  1. Good evening everyone i think that the hull and fittings is now about 75-80% complete, every time i look at photos i see more to add, also now that im more confident with soldering, im happy to have a go at making bits 12 ships boats make up the compliment on here, these will be made up over the coming months, as much as i hate making them, one of the motor launces was started by me 12 years ago, at present being taken back to the frame the accommodation ladders are now done, just the lifting gear/davits to be made up
  2. with work like that its got to be worth making a bell rope Bellrope tutorial (frayedknotarts.com)
  3. good evening everyone most of the two lowered stbd side accommodation ladders are complete now, hope to finish them tomorrow as the port side was a test, these went together much better and faster and in my eyes look better made a set of jigs to ensure the platform supports were the same size, lol its the danger time when i say to myself is it time for a redo of the port side
  4. everything changed when we got the dog, it was easier for all for me to move into the house and use the conservatory, which in turns allows the dog to choose who he wants to be with without opening external doors all the time to let him in and out this leaves the original mancave and the garage for messy jobs and dumping grounds, , converting the garage then frees one of the spare bedrooms, where all my builds are collecting dust
  5. im sure one day i will bring you and wifi over to see it, we can share a diet coke and a packet of cheese and onion crisps
  6. we have been clearing up a lot in the last couple of weeks, to get the garage ready for being turned into a display room, i might just start a new thread on it, this needs a bit of planning but the space i am taking over is about 7 feet in height x 10 foot wide and longer than the biggest build, about 5 to 6 feet wide, it will have to be low budget but also dust free
  7. the wife does a lot of the decorating, wallpaper doors and frames i do the big jobs, she also cleans up behind me we are going to do the kitchen this month i think, keep the cabinets, new lighting, floor covering and paint the walls/ceiling this summer is going to be the conversion of 1/2 of the garage into a model display room to get all the builds out of the house, as part of that plan the garage roof has just been replaced from cement/asbestos corrugated sheeting put down in the 60's to a nice resin roof
  8. sorry i am one of those very late to the party, what a lovely and unusual project
  9. can you please edit the post and rotate the photos
  10. some lovely detail there, such a shame our newer new builders have to make do with the poor substitute now provided, lol we are not all @DORIS

  15. those resin bits look stunning, but like you said you are left with nothing to do other than paint and add, thats not so much a hobby, i suppose the fun bit would be designing your own, but that opens another can of worms doesnt it, love the build
  16. good evening everyone well most of the port side accommodation ladders are in, another couple of fittings to sort out and then paint then in relevant black or white im struggling with the rung ladders, making them out off paper staples, getting them to look tidy and inline and as for the white painting to do the touch ups i may take the white one back out redrill and paint them before placing on the hull
