WWII Aircraft by Javlin - PLASTIC - The Unfinished to Finish
Javlin replied to Javlin's topic in Completed non-ship models
It's AB and a new technique for me I upped to 35psi and started with short strokes on my Badger Renegade with fine tip for the first cover then 2/3 coats got longer strokes(pullback) to lay more thicker paint building up layers. The best painter and possibly model builder I know uses a technique similar but he works at 50psi and acrylics. -

I built this in the last four days it's a 1982 boxing from Tamiya of the Zero(Hamp) had a price tag of $11 I paid in the late 80's.I lost one of the interior landing gear doors so I opted for the gear up option then to which the stand comes out of the spares box from supermodel. The box art showed more of what my scheme is while Tamy shows a much more sparse camo like a late KI-61 I thought not?A Nice distracting build. We are to Denis highs in the low 80's So I finally cleared one of my biggest hurdles with this build the stencils a lot of trial an error alot.I made the said stencils five times wasted abit of ink getting the dimensions right then had to repaint the fuse some for the stars were in the wrong location! I made one big stencil and saved the star now just to make the circle and hope I still have Insignia Blue left? -

Thks Guys I am glad it is finished now other works esp. seeing winter fall/winter are fast approaching. The collection from the 8' cabinet moved here to the 4' (5" spacing)mainly 1/48 with some 2 engine planes in 1/72 on the bottom shelf this will open up the big cabinet(7" spacing) for 1/24 and 1/32.I eventually want to build another cabinet just for ships a different spacing. -

So I have been clearing out the shop on both sides of projects first of all I have finished the cabinet and it's in the office/hobby room which clears out the wood working side some and I finished a small project for momma. This will open the door back to model building shortly just rearranging everything between the two rooms ATTM "clearing the desk" they say.To finish the spit will be next the mask for the fuse are what's on the plate next canopy is done, made a new aerial an painted the front engine panels. -

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
