  1. It's AB and a new technique for me I upped to 35psi and started with short strokes on my Badger Renegade with fine tip for the first cover then 2/3 coats got longer strokes(pullback) to lay more thicker paint building up layers. The best painter and possibly model builder I know uses a technique similar but he works at 50psi and acrylics.
  2. Got one out already by Nichimo I think it's a "Kate"?
  3. I built this in the last four days it's a 1982 boxing from Tamiya of the Zero(Hamp) had a price tag of $11 I paid in the late 80's.I lost one of the interior landing gear doors so I opted for the gear up option then to which the stand comes out of the spares box from supermodel. The box art showed more of what my scheme is while Tamy shows a much more sparse camo like a late KI-61 I thought not?A Nice distracting build. Kevin
  4. It gives me about a year of relief they burn the nerves usually it's 4 long needles this time 8 and you are awake.
  5. Old injury OC I have had seven concussions in my life time head bloodied twice and knocked out 3 times father times stays on my **** these days.I have to agree on the Spit just glued the ailerons flat any ideas on the color of the fuel cap?
  6. She continues to move forward really slow between Hurricanes, work and some health issues which are better got eight long needles up and down the spine from T1 to about T9 burned the nerves sleeping again though.
  7. Not right now Mike it's been crossing the mind though typical health and work issues just had eight needles in the back for the spine the other day feels good now was in constant pain makes it hard to focus.
  8. it was a positive day I kept on rolling
  9. We are to Denis highs in the low 80's So I finally cleared one of my biggest hurdles with this build the stencils a lot of trial an error alot.I made the said stencils five times wasted abit of ink getting the dimensions right then had to repaint the fuse some for the stars were in the wrong location! I made one big stencil and saved the star now just to make the circle and hope I still have Insignia Blue left?
  10. Thks Guys I am glad it is finished now other works esp. seeing winter fall/winter are fast approaching. The collection from the 8' cabinet moved here to the 4' (5" spacing)mainly 1/48 with some 2 engine planes in 1/72 on the bottom shelf this will open up the big cabinet(7" spacing) for 1/24 and 1/32.I eventually want to build another cabinet just for ships a different spacing.
  11. So I have been clearing out the shop on both sides of projects first of all I have finished the cabinet and it's in the office/hobby room which clears out the wood working side some and I finished a small project for momma. This will open the door back to model building shortly just rearranging everything between the two rooms ATTM "clearing the desk" they say.To finish the spit will be next the mask for the fuse are what's on the plate next canopy is done, made a new aerial an painted the front engine panels.
  12. Very Nice and an excellent solution for the camo Kevin
  13. I have this in my stash bought it for the same reason to revisit childhood and my Dad he had a short stint in SAC mother hated it from what I heard.
  14. Your wood work(cutting/fitting) continues to improve .
  15. On the Spit they are Denis still healing nose looks like raw meat just being patient. It's been slow the last week(two storms in the gulf) painted the canopy, redid the yellow boots and started to lay down some clear for the "Lima Challenger" to go down.
  16. Yeah that's why he liked it it was like 30/40's in N Japan and Guam was blue water and upper 70's
  17. I think Ken my son has Italy or Germany on his list he still in Japan with the 35FW he goes to Alaska for TDY like six weeks(?) and then to Guam(deploy?) he liked Guam last time.
