There is nothing the Byrnes saw cannot do, and do better. If you want to keep two saws the reason shouldn’t be because some other saw can do it. (Short of a full size table saw I suppose)

The addition of the Byrnes cross cut table accessory opens even more possibilities. I easily cut lap joint hatches for Cheerful using it.

Glenn

order new blades

The best saw blades for the Byrnes saw are the ones he sells. He no longer offers Thurston blades. I have his new ones, they cut great.

DVM2, Thanks for your response. I must be dense or there is more to it. I know what it is now but I, for the life of me can't figure out how to attach it. The photo shows 2 knobs.  The one I can see is going into a much smaller diameter cylinder.  Is there a schematic or manual that can be found?  Possibly a photo from the bottom from someone.

The part you showed in post #28 is a simple jack that is placed under the blades shaft housing after it is loosened and moves the blade up or down.  It is placed right where the two red knobs shown in post #30 are shown.  The two red knobs were a later improvement to adjust the blade height.
