You could even extend the walk on the outside to the front

Yup, but I have to be careful not to expose the crew too much ... maybe I could do something with bulwarks and hammock cranes ...

Cheers

More about her history later.

I think that I remember this ship!  Wasn't she launched on April Fools Day back in 1701?  As I recall, her first captain was the Court Jester.

If I'm ever near, I'll come and get a glass of cider, could do with "un calva" although that is from your regional neighbour.

She seems to have been present at the liberation of Den Briel by the Dutch "Watergeuzen" April 1st 1572!

Must have been by somebody whose spectacles got lost/stolen that day :)

No prob, I've got my own cider but it's rather strong ;o)

And in stead of calva we have "fine bretagne". Basically the same thing but from here. Or you could try the local beer!

My wife doesn't like raw oysters so I improvise.

Put them on the bbq in the shell, they open up when they are cooked, add a little bit of a crème frâiche/white wine mix ... yummie.

It's only 975 km.

... smoke room, they used to smoke their pipes as I recall from "Het fregatschip Johanna Maria" ... maybe ... the "wooden fregat shoe" would be an applicable ship type for your build

If that rig starts taking on water during trials, it'll be easy to get a toe.
