Blades for byrnes table saw

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

A few yers ago i bought some blades of 0.5 mm to my Proxxon table saw for germany they are the best blades i ever see ...

the point is, the hole of this blades its 10mm

and i cant use them for my byrnes tables saw...

but i saw that this site selling also blades of 13mm Hole

my question is if i can buy them for my byrnes t.s,

the byrnes t.s use blades with 1/2 in (12.7mm)

so the big question is if 0.3mm will make a problem..:

Best regards,

Michael.

btw here is the link for the german site:

I guess it depends on the accuracy you require for your cuts, if you are ok with .3mm variations then it would probably be ok, it might eventually wear out your spindle shaft ... I would just source some 1/2” arbor hole blades from Jim or Malco blades.....

Jim makes adapter bushings,  call him and ask if a band that narrow is something he would do.  Otherwise, tolerances that sloppy are probably a very bad idea.

A difference of 0.3 mm between the arbor and the sawblade-bore makes it essentially useless. The blades should be a 'sliding fit' on the arbor. This is the problem with equipment bought in the USA/UK in Europe and vice versa.

It should be possible, however, to buy sawblades with imperial dimensions in the UK. I have been dealing e.g. with RDG-Tools in the past: https://www.rdgtools.co.uk/

Otherwise, an arbor to DIN/ISO specifications for fits (h7, I believe) would be needed.
