I have been building other simple models and decided it was time to pursue a life long dream of building a realistic ship model. My ultimate goal is to build a large ship with multiple masts and extensive rigging but I knew it was wise to start off simple so I have the Palamos Spanish Fishing Boat on order from Premier Ship Models. Even though I have a lot to learn and skills to develop, I'm excited to finally pursue this dream. The boat won't be here for a couple of weeks but I am very open to any advice or mentor suggestions. I'm really looking forward to this journey and making friends along the way.

Welcome to MSW, Pat.   Looks like we have a few logs of that kit here on MSW.   I suggest that when your model arrives, that you open a log in the Kit Log area.   It's the best way to get  help and meet other builders.

Hi, Pat, and welcome to MSW. I agree with Bruce and Mark that you should start a build log when you begin your model. It's a very good way to get help and advice - and encouragement from the other members here. The instructions are at https://modelshipworld.com/topic/24705-before-you-post-your-build-log-please-read-this-starting-and-naming-your-build-log/

Welcome aboard!

 Pat, welcome to MSW.

This past weeks events in Texas make me glad my ship sailed from that part of the world ( Midway and George Bush) years ago. I hope you and yours are fairing well in light of the difficult conditions faced by so many in Texas.
