Got this kit as a gift from my father-in-law. Two previous owners have tried and failed to build it. This is my first boat kit, and also my first build of wood. I started modelling 1:35 armor in january and will try to transfer some of the weathering tecniques to this scale.

The glass shard

I don't know this technic, any link or instruction?  I think your propeller locks realistic, nice done 🙂

Anchor in correct location. The drawing from billing boat is not in scale. and the hight of the railing strip item 28,a,f is 3cm lower at the ends (items 254) = 2mm on the model 🙂

The strip between railing and deck have a similar shape. Get narrower from middle part to both ends

Hi Sundt!

I machine sanded the deck with 80 grit and it turned grey. Hand sanding with finer grit made it even worse… But I was not afraid😂, I used the sharp edge of a glass plate to «sickle» or scrape the wood to make the grain visible. It even got a gloss look before furnishing👍🏻

Today I finally had some time and painted the pipe for the oven, the exhaust and the things that leads the anchor chain throgh the deck. (what is those called?)

I also finished the vent, changing some of the parts and added some scratch build parts to make it look more like the original.

I have also started the work on the two figures. The position of the helmsman is yet to be decided so I can not glue his arms yet. But I can start painting the watchout, their heads, hands and the binocular. I started with three thin layers of base scin and painted the eyes and the red bloodline around the edge. It is a WIP🙈
