Here is a new build.

I will build this one at a hobby model club.

So it don't go fast!

Between 1997 and 1999 a replica of the Duyfken( Little Dove ) was built in Freemantle ,Australia to commemorate the first discovery of Australia.

When she was in Holland I was visiting her and I always want to build her.

And Kolderstok make a kit so at least her she is.

Length 650 mm

Width  250 mm

Height 550 mm

And then a few pictures of what was in the box

It was my privilege to go on board 'Duyfken' while she was being built in Fremantle. She's so beautiful and she's part of our history as Australians.

Have fun with it.

Last tuesday it was the first evening at the modelclub.

Because everybody wanted to see what i was doing i only glued 3 frames.....

The rest of the time was giving information about the proces of building.

A few things I'll be doing at home like painting.

There are two doors.

One is going behind a deck and the other one is going on the back of the stern.

That's the one with the white color on it.

I just told you that it is a slow build.

After two tuesdays of building at the club, all the frames are done 🙂

I think I have to build more instead of watching other projects and not so much talking

Sjors, I'll be curious to see how your Duyfken comes on. I've been aware of Kolderstok since a number of years, but want to finish my Mars before deciding if I go from 1:64 to 1:50. Could you please comment on the quality of the materials, e.g. how snug is the fit of bulkheads on the keel? Are there any helpful structures for making a rabbet (as Vanguard models now have), etc.? Judging from your pictures, it's looking good!

Current build: privateer brig Mars

Completed: Sperwer (Billing Boats; 1st wooden model)
                      Batavia (Revell plastic kit)

Ah-ha, been hunting high and low for you....and finally found you!  This looks like a very nice kit, and a pleasant change to the usual.  Looking forward to seeing more progress, looks like you're off to a great start.

Cheers,

Jason

Hai Sjors ben je gestopt met de Duyfken ik zie geen voortgang of ben je gestopt met foto's maken

Hoi Martin.

First off all only English here 🙂

Not everyone can read Dutch.

No i didn’t stop.

She is on hold for the moment, same as the Victory.

A friend of mine and a builder of this forum is sick.

He lives in Norway and a few weeks ago we bring him a visit in Norway.

The builders who are here from the beginning knows him very wel.

It’s Børge…

His greatest wish was to build the USS Constitution.

He had the kit from model shipways on his workbench but can not build it.

He ask me if i want to do that for him.

So at my workbench there is the Constitution.

I have to make a build log .

That’s why the other ones are on hold.

When you take a look by Historische zeilschepen at the Dutch forum Modelbouwers.nl you can see a few Duyfkens

Don’t hunt Jason 😄

Just ask for me……

See my comment at Martin above.

I will make a build log for the Constitution.
