Too bad about the chainplates Derek............. I know it's frustrating to tear them out and do it allover again, but you'll be happier in the long run....... the Victory is lookin good regardless... .. I see what you mean about the paint on the close up. what kind of paint did you use ?

sometimes those close up shots make things look worse than they really are, don't worry about it . are there any other chainplates available

that you could use on your Victory? I'm surprised Jotika wouldn't have had some decent chainplates included with the kit. Maybe some of the other Victory guys can give you some advice. i'm sure you'll find a solution. Your build is looking good , so just hang in there with the chainplates. :)

Hello derek

I can see we're you are coming from on the strops. If the stem was longer it would allow the lugs to hook around the underside of the channel, and eliminate the widening of the location slots. I have tried artificers ( Dave's ) idea of widening of the slots and using a nail as a stop for the lugs, but it is obvious keeping the slots narrow is the most safe option. DAVID

Hi Derek

Seems like chainplates and channels were thye order of the day for the past couple of weeks.  Well done on your progress despite the shortcomings of the kit supplied materials.

Cheers

Hi Derek. Repaying your visit with one of my own. That is one big and beautiful ship model you have there. One of these days I'll have to step up to the plate and have a go at this classic. Outstanding work so far!

Thanks,

Patrick

Thanks for looking in Patrick as some one once said to me there is no reason why you cant do a big build it is no different from a small build just more of it DEREK
