Plank on frame ship cross section kit.

A couple of weeks past I spotted a kit, or maybe plans, for a cross section of ship that was plank on frame. I should have saved the information for future perusal but failed to and now I can't find it. I think it was a USA kit rather than European but I am not sure.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Yes "Karl" build is one of the best. I have all the pictures of that build up to date. I had started saving them since MSW1 so I have the ones from back then. But he does have a tread going that you can see from the beginning and he also has it going on another web site. Should check his tread out, it may be the one you seen before.

Mike, you might be thinking of the Bluejacket Shipcrafters kit of the Jefferson Davis. You can see it at http://www.bluejacketinc.com/kits/jeffersondavis.htm. It costs $375, and features in Milton Roth's book 'Ship Modelling from Stem to Stern'. The blurb on the web site says:

"JEFFERSON DAVIS was one of the most famous of the swift patrol vessels, used both off our Atlantic and Pacific coasts. She is one of the Campbell class of 14 revenue cutters. This class has been described as being the "ultimate Baltimore clipper," square topsail schooners. This is a model for the experienced modeler. The rugged 1/4" basswood frames are closely spaced as in actual ship construction, allowing plenty of bearing surface for a smooth planking job. The frames are pre-beveled to ensure easy clamping and a fair lay to the planking. Most importantly, JEFFERSON DAVIS is a beautiful, impressive model."

However, as you are in Milton Keynes you might find the cost of shipping, import duty and VAT a bit too much on top.

Hi.

Could it be this one.

http://shop.deagostini.co.uk/hms-victory-subscription.html

There are a couple of build logs on the forum.

And there is a build log on there forum :- http://forum.model-space.co.uk/default.aspx?g=topics&f=93

Comes in weekly parts that they mail order you once a Mounth *4

Builds into a nice model. The only extras you need are some veneer to cover the plywood parts that are visible :)

Regards Antony.
