Ahoy Dragzz  :D

I am a big "fan" of the hobby heat gun for forming planks.

For unruly planks, I soak them and then wrap the area in a wet paper towel then aluminium foil and nuke them with the gun. Just don't burn your fingers on them

If you use PVA glue it will also debond joints (wet the area first) I use a paint brush and apply water and heat to undo my screw ups.

Thanks for posting this

So you are planking over your ports and coming back to them, cutting them out a second time. How is this working for you. Inquiring minds want to know.

I also see the uppermost plank meets the top of the filler perfectly. Did you start here or measure and plank up to it.

Lastly: How is it bending Corel's walnut. Your planking looks really good coming around the bow.

Actually It all looks really good :)

hello jpett  so its a meeting of the minds i see lol

as for the full planks i think it will look better then doing half planks its a bit more work but that ok for me

i started 10planks from the top and work my way to top of the deck if u know what i mean

as far the walnut bending is good if u use the jig and pre bend them for it thats the best way dont use nails at all on it it will just split usless u pre drill hole

all and all it going vary well

Hi Dragzz,

She's coming together nicely mate, the planking is looking really good. Be careful though not to punch the pins in to deep or you could damage the planking when you remove them.

If you can get hold of some collard pins and secure the second planking by pushing the pins below the plank so that it is held by the collar, just a suggestion mate. Hope you don't mind.

Hi Dragzz,

Nicely framed gun ports mate, they look much better now. The planking is looking nice and neat as well, well done mate.

Middle gun deck aft I see you have an area where there is just a space, would I be right in thinking that that is for the entrance. If it is, should you not be making the doorway now.

Not being familiar with the plans for Victory I may be out of line in mentioning it, if I am please forgive me.

Keep up this good work mate and I look forward to further updates.

Be Good

Hi Dragzz

You and I are about the same place on the Victory model. I went a little different route and did the 2x5 planking as I did the planking in the gun port area. It has been difficult to cut out the 2x5 planking at each gun port. Also the 2x5 planking is difficult to bend but I found away. I see you have already installed the metal gun ports with out painting them red as called for in the directions. Do you plan to leave them the metal color?

Keep up the good work as I compare my status with you.

hello harm no my  metal gun ports are not glued in place yet
