A quick catchup.  Chapter ten nearly finished, just waiting on ships wheel to complete.
Meanwhile i started scratching chapter eleven by making the swivel mounts from Kauri, six sided left natural.  The frieze went on well after printing on tissue and secured with acrylic matt medium.
The steps were made by using an AL shaper and rounding the ends with a needle file.
I also added the lantern to the stern along with the chains.
Thats as far as I am able to scratch build this beautiful ship.

Chuck has advised that the United States Postal Service has, once more suspended standard shipping to New Zealand only leaving express shipping which i have found to be too expensive.  Last time it was several months before service was resumed so no telling how long it might be for this time around.
In the meantime Winchelsea has gone back into storage.

Its been some time since my last post, due in part to shipping being suspended to New Zealand.  Lets hope that the last time it happens.
Now, having taken delivery of Chapters 8,9,10 there is no reason not to continue.
Looking back I seem to have neglected to upload photos of Chapter Seven so here goes, a mixture of flash  and non flash.

And so on to the Forecastle. I had some issues with the curve of the  bow but was able to sort them out.
I also wanted to mount two guns  here but found the partial deck not wide enough, so I installed extra planks to avoid having the rear trucks hanging in space.

    Time for the Quarter Deck.

I couldn't believe it when a friend told me how long it has been since my last post.
My only excuse is that life caught up with me and subsequently Winnie took a back seat.
She was finished some time ago so I will post a couple of photos that show some of the details.
Since taking these shots someone made me an offer that I could not refuse so Winnie now has a good home leaving me with plenty of space in the workshop.
Who knows I  am tempted to build another one and hopefully correct some of the mistakes I made first time round.

My thanks must go to Chuck for making this superb ship build available.
To all those who, with their helpful comments and suggestions made this possible...Thank you.

    Hello,
thank you for the encouragement, also I would like to thank the others for the many LIKES.

Continuation: Equipment of the lower yards - Quarter blocks - Poulies d'ecoute
Before I continue with the footropes according to my announcement, there was one small thing to add that I almost forgot. It is a strop with lashing that holds the quarter blocks in place. Due to the deflection of the sheets, these blocks would otherwise move towards the yardarm.

    See you soon ...

Yes, your drawing is very much in line with the style of the original, as far as I understand it))
