Can you tell me where you found pictures of the real boiler/fire control room. I have had a good hunt but can't find any.

Thank you very much for your comprehensive reply. I think my lighting will be simpler although so far I have had to modify all the bulkheads to accommodate wiring and leds for the hull. I am not sure how I am going to deal with the deck lights yet.

I am doing the Occre kit as well, with I hope, full lighting!! So I shall keep watching yours so that you can make all the mistakes first!!

That sure is a very tidy coppering job.
The figure head looks fantastic. I real eye catcher. The carver has done a superb job and the paint job is excellent. Well done.

What I have done before is to sand the hull leaving the dust on it and then paint it with sanding sealer across, not along the planks which brushes the sawdust into any small gaps. It is the easy enough to gently sand the whole hull again with fine sandpaper. Works well for me.

If it is any help at all I found that waxing the lanyard thread helps and then just run the shrouds between finger and thumb before you start 'lacing' the ratlines and then keep the deadeye facing whichever way it choses. It worked for me.

Hello again and thank you for your reply to my PM.
The reason I didn't ask you in your main log was because I thought my question related to a very early point in your build rather than being an up to date one. Anyway with relation to the bulwarks, did you find they sat slightly below deck level at the sides? And how did you glue them? Did you use CA or PVA and di you put them on wet or dry? A lot of questions I'm afraid.

Hooray, my bits have arrived from Model Airways so on we go
I have done the undercarriage framework although I have to admit to doing the rigging three times because I was being a numpty !
I have also drilled the holes and fitted the eye bolts to the cabane struts. I am very glad I am lucky enough to have a proxxon drill press as drilling those holes would have been a real headache by hand.
Now of course I have to try and fit them on !!
John - did you use epoxy for the struts ?

I am still waiting for the parts I need from model airways but, in the meantime I have made a start on my 'half' covering of the plane. I can only do so much because otherwise I will not be able to do the cabling that runs though the wings for the ailerons.
Anyway I thought you might like to see how far I have got. he final colour scheme is going to that of 209 squadron RAF from WW1 as flown by Arthur Roy Brown who was credited to an extent with shooting down the Red Baron !
