Just found your great log, can not figure out why it took me so long to do so, must be that I spend too much time in the old ship yard and very little on the PC searching the MSW Form. Great job on your decking and also on all of that supper sanding it sure has turned out great, WELL DONE,                                       ENJOY.

Nice little build you have ended up with Bryan   I like the upper planking idea you went with, still lets in enough light to the lower areas.

I would go with the natural brass look too. but coat it with clear varnish to keep it shiny

That planking has let the whole thing down, up to now the quality of your parts looked really nice but those planks are really bad, if i were you i would email them those pictures and request replacements now, you may get them before you get to the stage they are needed 

The hatch looks great, nice and tidy

Just a quick update to show i am still building

Second upper and lower planking fitted and partially sanded

Do i detect that you feel the same way about rigging as i do about sanding

Looks like a nice little kit, and you are off to a good start

I hardly used the manual, because I changed, modified or scratchbuild most of the build.

The shape of the hull is what remains "original" ...the rest is....different.

And very nice it is too

You're right Bob. It is very well made. There were no bad cuts, all the pieces fit exactly as described. The first 2 modules I pieced together in a dry run first, expecting to have to make 'adjustments'. Those went together nicely and after that I had enough confidence to start right in with the glue.

 

After working with it for a few days, my only regret is I should have bought less 3 drawer modules and more 2 drawer. The usable height of the 3 drawer is slightly over an inch. There were a number of tools that would not fit in those.

 

And I really wasn't joking, at the moment I am lost trying to find anything. Probably several reorgs over the next few wee

Once you put it away neatly the fairies come out and hide it all

The surprise is made, waiting to be attached. But not for the moment, best part with the surprise, is that it can the very last piece, if I wish.
