Finished my first build - OcCre Bounty Launch – photo to follow, after I build a display stand – anyone know of any basic plans?
The question I have for members is; What next?
Would really appreciate what people consider appropriate as a 2nd build?
Thank you.

I hated those little thin deck planking strips, what a pain they were and tedious

Here is a photo showing similar high detail of the helicopter with the crane and windlass. This will look like Calypso's helicopter when I am finished.

I did some initial painting of the helicopter today. When dry, the fuselage will need sanding before the next coat of yellow paint is applied. Dry fitted the basic tail section. More to come. The second photo is to show scale. The forward curves of the landing gear will be clipped, and the pontoons will be added to the bottom.

Adding plastic filler to the tops of helicopter pontoons to hide the seams and make them flat and flush. Also began the helicopter landing structure. Taking my time and enjoying the journey.

Fuji,
Thanks much for the kind words, I really appreciate it! Good luck with your build and start a log, I would very much like to see some pics as you move forward with it!
I used Micro Kristal Klear from Microscale on all the portholes and windows, applied with a toothpick. On the larger cabin windows, I first glued the acetate that was supplied with the kit using the Kristal Klear, then backfilled the opening once the acetate was firmly in place. It takes several hours for the Kristal Klear to set up and actually turn clear (it is opaque white at first) and it is not as transparent as the acetate, so if you’re going to detail the internal spaces, this may not be the way to go.
Thanks again,
Don

Beautiful, Don, you did a fantastic job on her! The Calypso is one of my favorite ships ever and you've certainly done her justice. Jacques would be proud of your model.

mtdoramike got a reaction from king derelict in Hellen by mtdoramike - Artesania Latina
I'm going to get a Artesania Latina Hellen kit from a friend. The hull as been put together, but that is as far as they got on it. I'm thrilled to get this kit, it's been out of production for a while and it peaks my interest, so I said what the heck, I get it and finish it. I comes with a 540 geared drive motor, speed control and a few extras. I'm not fond of plastic hulls, so I will see how it goes.

mtdoramike got a reaction from portchieboy in Completed Caldercraft HMS Victory
I donated a built Victory to my local Library and also another large ship model to my local Hospital, which holds an auction once a year to raise funds. Now, my question to you is, is your Model Victory in a display case? If not, then most places will not accept it due to possible damage and becoming a giant dust collector. Both my model donations came with display cases.
