Thanks everybody for the likes, as always, much appreciated, and inspiring!
I feel for you Mark, but mine just uncrossed from the previous PE marathon session
You give me more credit than you should ... you haven't seen it ... through an optivisor!!
I am so jealous of your capability to exagerate mate, but thanks ... it feels so good ...
---
Today shopping ... need to get me some building, paint, and weathering materials for the CRC-build. I might even finish the pompom if I get lucky ...

I know that you are not finished with the first gun as yet but I for one am very impressed Carl. I know just how small this gun assembly is in real life! Your work looks perfect even at the extremely close range it takes to even see it!
Might be a little bit of jealousy regarding your abilities as well. Truly astounding.

Are your eyes crossing yet, Carl. Mine cross just looking at the photos.

Gents, thanks for the likes and the positive comments
Hello Pat.
Good to have you with us. Hmmm ... viewing from a safe distance ... and I thought downunder was far enough ... now the back row as well ... Actually I would say I took a liking to the R.N ships ... a bit like British classic cars ... they've got soul ...
I've started on the quad ... first breathless steps
Drilling the holes to fit the barrels
Need to take a breather ...

Taking a back row seat to see what you do with this one Carl, looks like you have taken a liking to RCN ships?
cheers

Oh you do love a challenge Greg, that PE looks more than a little difficult! Good luck
The paint effect is very good and representative of a well worn 'work horse' of the fleet.
cheers
Pat

So you're back ... I hate those rails 'round the funnel. It always turns out into an endless struggle to get them aligned and (<-key word) glued on. Even with PE this requires some kit bashing, or should I say PE bashing ... I like the fact the rigging scheme is included, makes life a lot easier.
I'll be starting on her, as far as possible. Waiting for the PE. have to look into the drill template for the netting, might need some additional brass trinkets

The kit comes with its own PE, the dimples are for those. The Infini also has the handrails. There is a real art is putting them on and then adding a drop of glue. I usually put them in a stick with blue tack on them then put them on a stick and let it sit horizontally.
The other option is to put evenly spaced rings and place wire through it.
The crows nest is quite hard but also somewhat inaccurate. This photo is only accurate as to how it’s supposed to actually look (the crows nest itself).

You are a braver man than I Greg.
The structure above the crows nest looks really fragile. I think I would be tempted to leave it until after the superstructure was finished! But then you have been through this a few times before and there is no question you know what you are doing.
It looks like you had to drill for the hand rails around the stack. How do you measure for the spacing around the curved surface?

Beautiful hull weathering. You can almost smell the old rusty iron, decaying slowly.
You truly are an artist.

Deck weathering with pastels?

There you go, a nice clean deck! Note, do not add the 10 fairleads until after the deck is laid as you’ll have the same pain I just did. I’ll have the trim the edges so the stanchions can go in.
