  1. Yes I did not start with the kit yet. I live in the Netherlands but purchased the kit at Cornwall Model Boats. If that is the case like you said then I will send an email to CMB for a replacement. Thanks for tuning in!
  2. I've sent a mail to GMB when and if the stock was being refilled. This was more then a month ago I think. They said that the manufactorer did not have any stock anymore, so they didn't know when a new delivery was comming. GMB is great by the way...not meant as a diss The ships that you chose have also different scales, so that is maybe something that can help you with your descision
  3. The font is probably not accurate...but much better then the original letters that came with the box...don't really understand why Caldercraft supplied such letters as this:
  4. Finally named her...🙂 Used tape to measure the position. And found letters at Cornwall Model Ships at the right size and color. Afterward I applied a thin layer of varnish.
  5. It's a really nice build! I like the close-ups, your work is really precise Is the hull planking the same wood, but just with other finishes on it?
  6. The eyes of the deadeyes are indeed terrible😂 Same stuff in my kit...weird that they don't figure that out.
  7. Third attempt😁 Quite happy with it! The trick with the CA glue worked fine. I did not weave it, because that is going to be to much out of scale.
  8. Thanks for al your help Dirk. How do you get that line so tight on the mouse? With my efforts it wants to slip off the mouse because the surface is so smooth. And do you just turn a single thread around? Or do you weave it also?
  9. That looks much better indeed. Your wicker-work (don't know if that's the right word) looks als much neater.
  10. Finished the Fore stay...pictures are not that great because the light is weird now. But you get the idea 😁 The mouse looks a bit oversized...but I can live with that with this model. I did not serve the line. Because my knowledge about this is not sufficient at this stage. You can also see the gammoning.
  11. Trying to make a mouse that sits on the fore stay. Not perfect yet... but learning. It's okay for now. The hard piece on the inside is made of polymer clay, but I need to refine the technique on the homemade jig
