    I have tested white and standard yellow LEDs, I liked the yellowish ones. Soldering SMD LED wasnt as easy as I was rememering it, after 5-6 tries managed to figure it out Led tresshold is 2,5V, so I used two batteries providing 3V. I am going to use only five leds so 2 batteries should be ok.

    For the coating I have choose once again tung oil

    For the deck planking, I used planks with 9cm lenght following the rule of 3 (repeat patern every 3 planks) before staring gluing the deck planks, I have drawn the patern on deck, to decide which rule looks better (3 or 4) and some treenailing using bamboo toothsticks

    I want to put some led lights in this kit, so I will try to bash it a bit. First I will leave the doors open, so I have to make the cabins look more realistic. I cut some parts from the hull sections stern view bow stern cabin main deck Captain's quarters, windows will be real so you can take a look inside cabin, hopefully I will make some furnitures

    I have finished all gunports on the left side of the ship

    Thank you all or your remarks, @coleman, I have tried to "age" running rigging, tea wasnt as good as coffee, in fact the threads that hunging on sails are in facted aged... Too much work for very small difference, but in my next built I will make a bucket of coffee and rest biege thread insde.... for a week and check it before starting rigging

    I think it had 1. small book with pictures and another one with details in text, 2. four or five plans for rigging, (maybe more) that are in actual size (1:1), its very helpfull when i was making the masts, also it had one big plan with ship picture, from above, and from side almost in 1:1 (i think maybe 10% smaller) to be honest for the rigging I havent used kit plans at all, I mean I may give a glance now and then, but I am following book instructions and various pictures I made a lot of modifications/improvments, so I hardly used the original manual

    Hi, I hope you enjoy this build as I do with my SJN what exactly you need with plans, i can try and scan them and email them to you. The small book with instructions is easy to be scanned, the rest plans with rigging is harder, you may need those plans to make the masts since those plans are 1:1 anyway this is my build log from my san juan, incase you havent already browse it http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/875-san-juan-nepomuceno-by-kostas-gr-artesania-latina-my-first-build/ I am close to finish attaching sails, (I need to post some pictures, I am a bit lazy)

    thanks for you comments last weeks at greece is way too sunny to stay inside and make progress on my ship, but i ll try to post some pictures, I have made some changes on sails, nothing much though working on foremast atm

    A bad accident ....a shroud that was too long, spread out where it shouldnt, I stepped on it managed to save the ship (before falling down) but fore upper mast broke I was so pissed off that i wanted to cut off almost all foremast rigging and redo it, but i was too hothead to think clearly and let it pass for a couple of days and think out an alternative i tried to soften the cyanoacrilic that shrouds were glued on the mast using alchool, and keep pressing on them till they get apart from the mast, once done iI have removed the broken part and replaced it with a new one. I had to restrain shrouds a bit, but the outcome was average and I have decided to leave it as it is and not to remake the rigging of fore mast from scratch.

    your workshop is just amazing even if i dont know how to use those power tools, i wish i could spend several hours testing them

    figure head my attempt to curve the figure-head, I have used basice tools nothing fancy. The wood I have choosen is , actually dry root from a tree (a root from a dead tree that was complete dry), becouse it looked that it was easier to curve. I wanted to make the crown on the head too, but becouse of miscalculations there was not enough wood to curve as a true greek never liked royality stuff and symbols........
