I just knew changing tables would present problems. Being too close to Sjors can be a dangerous proposition. Ah, the mantel of responsibility that comes with rank.
It's back to the shop tomorrow AM. What good is a Commodore without a ship

Hello, Ferit!
This morning I've taken a piece of time to see all your log. It has been a pleasure for my eyes: a very clean and interesting work. The frigate Berlin is one of my favourite ships, being a Pinas, and it's the model that many years ago brought my interest on the Dutch navy of the XVII century. I've seen, you've done a large amount of good and proper modifications ... Will be the next model perhaps a scratch build?
Cheers
Alex

Thanks very much to all of you for your thoughts about my job... Those make me to feel very well...
I have affinity to see barrels on the deck. They look to me very characteristic and historical for period ships...

Ferit reacted to Kevin in HMS VICTORY by Kevin - FINISHED - Caldercraft - 1/72
Good evening everyone
The rudder is finished, although i may just do the top strap again, the spectackle (or however you spell it will be done next time around, when i remember to do the chaser gun ports and chains
Gunport lids
yes i know she is a 1st rate, i know that cannons are there to be installed, but i had no intentions from the start to show everyone in position, most of the lower lids will be slighty open, 1/2 open on the middle gun deck, some fully open and some shut on the upper gun deck,
My reasoning behind this is the sails that is where i wanted to base my concentration on, and lol im still wanting to, at present i am ensuring that the lids are the right size and planking them to follow the lines of the hull.
Sorry about the photo's the sun is setting and causing some long shadows (ill tell myself to do better)

Ferit reacted to ChrisLBren in USF Confederacy by ChrisLBren - FINISHED - 3/16 Scale
Hey Group,
At last all deck furniture is finished with the re installation of the ships wheel (i lowered its supports 1/16) and the binnacles. All thats left on this one is the headrails, dummy masts, channels/deadeyes, gunport lids/fenders and anchors. I need to decide if i want to proceed to the head rails or revisit the WVH - it is painting and sanding season outside here in Chicago (if it cools down just a bit). On the other hand Ive got some renewed momentum on the Confed. Have a great weekend,
Chris

Started with the bow doors area. I didnt do the doors exactly like the kit instructions said, as I want the thinner in the details.

I am so glad your back!!!! you've created such a great looking build....I've missed not seeing any progress! these would be called cannonades......am I right? ........I gotta get me a ship with cannons they're very well done, and set in place, they look even better!
I try and put stuff off as well.........the admiral and I have an agreement though.......she's more than willing to let me show my inner child, but I have to keep my chores up too. if I don't, I can't get the bling and baubles I need for my ships. she can't use the 'kit card' on me anymore........she knows I can scratch build Hee....Hee
a poem came to me, when I saw your post
I thought I was seeing a spectoral ghost
I clicked on it to read your text
and quite surprised at what I saw next
pictures, pictures, came to view
of lovely cannons, shiny and new
all set in place, in neat little rows
which bolstered me to write this prose
we all know life likes to get in the way
of the modeling we'd love to do every day
words become jumbled, causes me to say
pay the piper...'n...keep the peace
'cuz the more you pay........the more it's worth
