CDW got a reaction from popeye the sailor in 1965 Ford Mustang by fnick - FINISHED - Revell - 1:24 - PLASTIC
The answer is/was very simple: great looking styling, at an affordable price.
Being someone who actually owned a European sports car back then, I can tell you that owing one was a royal pain in the a** when it came to maintenance and acquiring spare parts. None of this was an issue for Mustang, Camaro, and Firebird owners.

Having completed the hull planking I decided to dry fit the hull deck parts. The seemed to fit OK and will not require too much tweaking.
I took the hull sanding profiles provided (a great kit idea) and spent a nice couple of hours in the sun this afternoon sanding and smoothing. The hull profile is now more or less in line with the all the different profiles templates. The hull requires a couple of minor tweaks. I think I will spray the hull with a primer to highlight any defects. This can then be filled as necessary and sanded smooth.

I'll third that Craig, as an owner of 65 Mustang convertible. My younger brother had a 60 MG A which was constantly in shop for tune-ups etc, he swapped it for a 65 Mustang after me. Great car !

I'll second that. Craig. Very hard getting parts and finding shops who'd even work on them.

CDW got a reaction from thibaultron in German 80 cm K(E) Railway Gun "Dora" by CDW - Hobby Boss - 1:72 Scale
If you read through the Wikipedia article, it says the Germans had plans to extend the gun's range to 100 km with a barrel extension. 😲

A gun like this begs for a diorama.

CDW got a reaction from DocRob in German 80 cm K(E) Railway Gun "Dora" by CDW - Hobby Boss - 1:72 Scale
As soon as I finish my current MRAP project, I plan to start this massive 1:72 scale German 80cm Railway Gun "Dora".
The finished model will measure in at a mere 44 inches in length. This thing would be a monster in 1:35 scale!
