Popeye - I have Lt. Dan waiting in the wings. The Lt. and the American flag will go on last. I have already broken his arm once and I do not want to press my luck! As for the wheelchair, I have made two attempts at creating the wheelchair. 1st attempt I had both sides of wheelchair that I made from the straight ends of 2mm eye pins. I bent them in my vise. I then glued a thin piece of cut styrene for the seat. As I was trying to glue the backrest on, it broke apart. 2nd attempt I tried to solder some bent wire together but at this scale, my soldering left a lot to be desired. I'm still trying to figure out how to recreate the wheelchair. I looked online for 1:60 scale disabled people in hopes to find a wheelchair, but it seems they are not popular in the model world as of yet.

Watching your progress on your build. Do you find that building a plane is different from building boats/ships? I have been fascinated by the B-17's ever since I had a vivid dream for 3 consecutive days as a crew member aboard a B-17 stationed in England. A long story. I just watched a BBC show called Time Team where they are excavating the crash site of two B-17's colliding right before reaching the base. Here's the linc if you've got the time.

I have made a little more progress with my rigging. I finished adding the chain to the net doors and rigged them to the outrigger lines. I made an anchor using styrene sheet and cut up eye hooks and placed it on the bow. Next step is my netting. I'm dying the tulle using dark green and black mixture.

Killer! I love Epiphones - guitars or bass. Currently, I own a Fender P bass, Tele Bass, Ibanez SR300E and a Lakland Skyline Hollowbody bass. My very 1st bass was a Vox V272 Sidewinder IV bass, which I kick myself for letting it go! We all have plenty of those "why". LOL Started off in Soul music but quickly jumped into the English wave scene. Hard rock, vintage country, rockabilly and Psychobilly. Here's a tune with me on bass:

Thanks to all for taking a look. A quick little build while waiting for parts on my Jenny. I hope everyone stays safe thru these unusual times!

Lou - LOL Their spring loaded and willing to jump into the nets! The chain for the 'doors' should arrive by the 27th of April. I'm debating whether I should include the doors or not. The few photos that I can find on the Jenny looks like the film crew had them removed for filming purpose. Decisions !!!

My sheaves and blocks arrived so I've started in on the rigging. Mast, boom and ladder now glued to the deck. I drilled a few holes into the mast and boom to accommodate the sheaves (I'm using them as my pulleys) and blocks. I realized that the boats probably used cables on the winches so I had to color the lighter thread that I had used with some Testors CreateFX Acrylic Flat Black Wash. I ordered (another wait) 2' of blackened 20 link per inch chain from Prescott Hobbies to use on the doors for the outriggers. My wife is printing out my American flag that will be flying next to Lt. Dan sitting atop of the boom. Here is my progress up to this point:

I've come to a finish on my AMT 1:25 The Body Snatcher (a.k.a.) Munster Koach. Just in time too. My 2.5 mm sheaves arrived so it's back to work on my Jenny shrimp boat. This kit was a break from my norm but a lot of fun to build. My wife gave me this wooden base that she had laying around so I'm going to cover it with a blood red velvet with high gloss edges. I'm looking to purchase a set of Show Pieces 1:25 scale chrome rope stanchions to add more detail. That's about it and I wish to thank everyone for dropping in and taking a look and leaving your comments. Cheers!

I should have this wrapped up within the next few days. I need to attach the coffin handles to the body and the rumble seat to the rear. A few touch ups with some paint and I'm hoping my 2.5mm sheaves will arrive so I can continue on with my Jenny.

OC - thank you for following along and your comments. Tomorrow I hope to add the headlights and side Koach lights to their position. I might be able to mount the rear rumble seat to the back portion of the body. Till then, Cheers! I took a look at your Revell Black Pearl and she is an absolute beauty!!! I hope others will check out your build 😉

I was able to get quite a bit of work done on my Koach. Undercarriage, interior and body glued together. Radiator with hose in place. Chrome exhaust pipes glued in. Windshield attached to the body with spider web decals in each corner. The Munster Family Crest was placed on center doors. Back door panels have the gold pattern decal in place. Getting closer to finishing this kit.

Mark & Popeye - Yes. It is a knock off of the Munster Koach. AMT did release a true Munster Koach kit. I am using these original AMT decals that I purchased on Ebay for my kit. The decals from the knock off kit are terrible. AMT must have lost the Munsters licensing for this double car kit. I lived in North Hollywood CA for some time and whenever I drove past the Barris shop on Riverside Dr., I would always pull over to admire the cars on display at his shop. I'm also in the process of converting the AMT Ghostbusters Ecto 1A kit back to an original hearse. I purchased a resin female accident victim that will be lying in the back for this kit. Thanks to everyone for the comments and for sharing some past memories. As Herman Munster would say, " Oh Goody!"

ASAT - no, we're hard core Halloween buffs and I also work as a scare actor at Six Flags Over Georgia and work the Ga. RenFaire as well. 😃 We have our creepy bar downstairs to entertain company. Dark red walls with dark brown trim. A lot of Horror movie pictures, skeletal animals, lots of candelabras with a glowing fireplace!

OC - Here's my wife and I with our 'special' nighttime vehicle. She's a 1966 Olds 98 Hearse with a 425ci. Her license plate reads BELATRX. We're creepy enough! LOL

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
