  1. Correct As far as I know. These standards serve as a reinforcement of the hull. Especially also on rear and fore castles if you do them flush with the wales (in pieces) then they have no strength anymore, and consequently little use. And, very nice work.
  2. Nice models And
  3. Indeed great work. Instructions that come with these old kits are not always clear. Working on an old Corel kit, the instructions actually stop as soon as the hull is planked. After that there are 2 drawings and an Italian text... exciting 😇...
  4. Grooves have been milled into the winch, which provided more grip on the winch Reconstruction of a new scratch build winch with "new" supports from "leftovers" construction of the handle which can block the winch Winch ready, chimney in progress And some further detail
  5. The general rule for metal is 5000 divided by the diameter of the drill in mm. Source: Mechanics lesson in the 2nd year of technical education... (in 1978) 😉 Wood may have a higher speed, but the 5000 rule is also quite ok in this case. Nostalgia
  6. I have also experienced this. Drilling by hand sometimes gives problems and small drill bits break more easily. I am really happy with the purchase of a Proxxon machine and the flexible drill head.
