    The main mast, I’ve replaced the upper masts with brass, I find that when it comes to rigging it’s the only thing that works

    Thanks, the reason is so I can rotate them like the main guns, and the doors would need to be open

    Bridge skeleton done, I’ve opened up and added range finders in the two upper range finding turrets using some old brass bits. I intend to super detail these yet but am awaiting a few parts.

    Todays progress,trying the get the PE and the plastic on the bridge section to align properly

    A simple Google search brings up a heap of photos of the luxuriant interiors of the Roma. Seems a silly expensive luxury but I supposed if they were parked up all the time …

    Roma’s stacks. The MK1 PE is quite nice, as you can see from the original photos there are some extra little vents which I’ve added from spares.

    I got the plans from Morskie and there are a lot of ‘free to air ‘ photos on the internet and Facebook has an Italian model ship group that their translation system works OK who are very helpful

    Sadly no but they are pretty good moulds. By the time I add a few flywheels on pedestals it will look ok. The 3D stuff coming for her will be a ‘worlds first’ in collaboration with Micromaster. If you have a look on the Micromaster web site you can see their Italian stuff (I am not in the pay of New Zealand !)

    Searchlight stand and the second mast, the kit mast looks nothing like the references so I’ve basked her a bit. Cut and scraped off all the bits to be replaced too.

    Effective weapon really, a plane with a crew of 3 or 4 takes out a battleship as opposed to anther battleship in a fleet with thousands of soldiers

    So the final shot of Roma in 1943; the Australian War Memorial has the same bomb used to sink her (it took 2), my plan is to get a boot with it and the ship when finished.

    Yes, I had to buy both sets and an extra so I could open up more hull gun doors etc.

    Apparently so, which means it probably had a lot of hull build up

    If you could f afford it you’d afford the fuel

    How good are the shots from the inside of this thing! Lavish! I bet the OR’s were treated like rubbish like their soldiers were mind you
