  1. So. Ow this is done, the traversing arm arrived
  2. And because he offered free shipping I might have got a truck to pull it
  3. So today the missing piece arrived from Milan, notice the excellent packaging in its own coffin!
  4. I’m so glad it didn’t sink! I actually think it’s grown on me, I will have to amend all the figures to NOT have a list. Interesting that the back base resin, the ink is starting to leach upwards )it looks really cool)
  5. So overnight we developed a massive list to port side! It’s stuck solid. So, no change in plan, it will just be a more dramatic rescue scene. I could t figure out why until I looked inside the hull and the seam has leaked letting in resin which as set hard as ballast. annoying but it will work
  6. So next is the radioactive bit. I used AK radioactive water but in the black surface it does not show at all. So a few drops of a vivid green acrylic in the mix works well. Remember there will be a coat on top on this and it will all be under water
  7. So to answer your question, this stuff! I don’t prime the resin which causes it to split but that was perfect for what comes next
  8. Luckily my youngest is an apprentice plumber so knows how to seal stuff up!
  9. So precut Perspex pieces which I will glue into a long bucket. Then lots of poured resin
  10. Deck rusted up with pigments, dryfit of the superstructures; lots of equipment to go on deck yet as it will diffuse the starkness of it IMG_0484.mov
  11. So the masking in the deck lifted even more paint (I like it), the base coat done on the upper hull, a dryfit for the sake of art. If you can’t view it I’m Bacon Bits Models on Facebook IMG_0443.mov
  12. So that’ll do for the lower hull as it will be under water (clear resin)
  13. I’m going to suggest you buy an aftermarket deck, you will be a lot happier with the result. It’s also good practice for your next build as they need to be glued down
  14. As things going to be ‘floating’ in resin, I want to make the hull filthy and lots of alge, some Mr surfacer and cotton wool. At 1/35 it actually seems to work!!!!
  15. I was going to do a diorama then figured I’d need a lot of figures and the back hatches are not open which they would be for operation. So this should do
  16. So green base graduation of 4 shades of green then chipping then let the masking begin.
  17. Now this is NOT my model but my concept of clear resin for this build
  18. Ok back in the Shmel. The deck, three coats of red/Orange/dark grey then I’ll give it a good clear coat, chipping coat then lots of green coats and chip it back
