    The chain detail is really nice. As OCD as I am i wouldn't change it.

    I gave the etched in hull detail another layer of rattle can primer. Metal deck glued down which I’ll use airbrush primer as the detail is so fine. You can see how the CA brings up fingerprints so well .

    Yep. There is a heap of types of these builds online all saying the bow is out. I disagree after studying the existing photos of her, but the hawser holes are in the wrong place. The kit is a hodge podge of “as built’ and 1942.

    The bloke who designed the ships (models) and owned the company died, so when they’re gone they’re gone unless someone bought the dies

    I think after 6 months their might be a decent pe set. I’ve seen the pre orders, there is also new aircraft and a generic PE too. Should be a good weathering opportunity too.

    The maker of this kit is now deceased so it will eventually run out of stock thus I wanted to do the final version as Vendetta was the last one that survived the war (for the RAN anyway). there was going to be a Langley AV 3 released later this year which would make a good group build

    The deck detail is fantastic as it a metal deck and it’s done nicely

    Yes mate, Emden, Seydlitz, Graf Zeppelin.... I have her 2 coats of rattle can primer, then I’ve etched in the weld lines (I’ve researched a lot and it’s really hard to find any photos of her Hull that have panel lines but zooming right in show them. I will give her another coat of primer then a red/brown undercoat that will be the base coat for chipping.

    Bad experience at 18 with Southern comfort. Warm beers are not something we are brought up with (I did have an experience with some warm a Korean Beer in East Timor with some Koreans and some dried salted squid.)

    Nope, probably the worst beer in Oz, universally hated. It’s Vile. I think the Northern European version is different to the Australian concoction.

    Belgium beers are also amazing but not as mainstream here because it’s so hot

    So when this comes out I’ll be able to bling her up

    No I’m going to do her in her final configuration on later 1945 at the time of the Japanese surrender. She was scrapped afterwards as she was worn out.

    The Flyhawk Pe. As you can see it pretty much replaces the deck for which I purchased a nifty little chisel to get rid of the details that require deleting

    I’m going to double stack builds here as I think I’ll have a bit of a wait in the upgrades from NZ. Again a kit I found cheap on E-Bay, I got quite a few extras from around the world. I wanted to do the fit out for April 1945, where the remainder of the Kriegsmarine was used to evacuate citizens from the Soviet army. The Flyhawk upgrade allows for a 1944 or final fit out. The final fit out allows me to beat it up as it would have been almost worn out. As usual the Flyhawk PE is just outstanding but I’ve gotten some 3D printed twin flack guns, and some newly released sea mines too.

    If you took your time you could, it’s a bit like eating an elephant. The folks that scratch build stuff and carve, I could never do, this is just putting stuff together in order

    So now a few years on, I have been given a reference of Vendetta’s final fit out appearance in 1945. This build will be coming soon.

    Next build is the HMS Zulu. A tribal class destroyer that has a generic PE set from White Ensign Models. It’s going to be a very aftermarket kit with 3D printing from Micromaster in NZ

    Got any decent photos? Her 1942 configuration? It looks like she’s dark blue, is that correct?
