I pinned and added glue to the tiller where it mates with the rudder post. Then I wedged with chocks to hold the tiller dead center while I string the rigging lines.

It seems am really sailing her... its a great feeling!

Today I  started playing with the though the build is comming to its end. 18 months is a long time.... I never believed I was going to see her finished. And thats because most of the builds in our blog start and remain unfinished.

It has been a great experience and fan... I enjoyed every moment.... I still do. The sails will finished this month or latest beginning of Oct.

Thankyou my friend. The GAC 400 its working fine. It seems am going to finish Hermione in this month. Its been now about 18 months that am working on her. I started this build in March 2017. I never  put it down all this time... I only reduced my working time during the presidential elections campaign from September to February, a few weeks when we had guests at our house and a few other weeks as we have been in vacations. I ll try to figure out how many working hours I had. I guess about 15 to 20 hours a week, when I worked more intense.

    Some more progress.
Broke all my drills so no treenails on the port side yet.

    Thanks for the advice Jim.

I had both the black and blue one in the house.
After 5 minutes using the black followed by the blue one it looks much better already.

The sharp bend near the counter that was there is now all smoothed out.
Looks like a little bit filler and it will all blend in nicely.

All 16 carronades are glued in position and one half of each breech line attached to one side. The deck looks like spaghetti with the unattached breech lines flopping around

The first carronade is glued in place and breech line installed. 15 to go!

Thanks Messis, and also thanks for the likes.
A small update this time. I lashed the long boat and the sweeps down on the gallow bits. I haven't glued them yet. I have a feeling that during the rigging stage it may be handy to temporarily take the long boat off the ship to create some needed space for my hands.
I also added the rudder pendants and added a few rope coils. And the netting is done. The netting was tricky as at one stage I pulled a eye bolt out of the boarding panel (with half the netting in place) and with another section I had to re glue the boarding panel all together. In the end it didn't end up being perfect but I'm happy with the result. I also had a bit of a play placing the anchor ropes.
This completes the hull so it looks like I will make a start on the bowsprit next.
Just a few photo's this time.

The Burbon's royal flag is flying on the flagmast. The General  Lafayette as royal envoy, was on board of Hermione, ferried to America. It was in 1780 when Louis XVI  sent General  La Fayette, carrying the "French reinforcements secret news", to George Washington in Boston, during the American Revolutionary war...

And a detail 😊: On the drivergaff is flying a small  flag of Cyprus.... Its the courtesy flag of the home port... thats here in my haus, where this model of Hermione, is at the moment visiting!

Thanks Steve, Jess & Alan and thanks for all the likes.
I managed to fix the steering so the lines now runs around the top of the drum. And the long boat is now completed as well.
I started placing the netting and spent 30 minutes patiently trying to thread a line through below the rigging line and pull it back out (through the netting!!) above the rigging line. After some choice words I went back to the instructions and found out the netting needs to be trimmed prior to lashing it....DOH. It looks like securing the netting is going to take me a while....lol... Very fiddly.
Anyhow, here are a few photo's.

Since the carronades that came with the kit do not have a breech line ring I decided to add my own. I glued on a small ring left over from another kit. When the glue dries I'll paint it black so it looks like part of the gun.

    Warnerade,
Definitely recommend this kit to a beginner.
You will learn lots if the whole thing is new to you.
You will get good results. The quality of the kit is great.

@Warnerade: depends on what your goals are. There's some who like to scratchbuild a model using 1 block of wood, original plans and a knife. There are some who like to make their own ropes or sails. But if your primary goal is to make a nice model without too much difficulty, the master korabel kits are perfect. And while building you still learn enough techniques useful for when you decide to take on the more difficult kits later. You will still be facing enough challenging problems to solve to make it an interesting build. Imho it is a nice step towards the nonprefabplank kits. The most important thing is to enjoy building it. Succes with deciding and have fun!

Way back when I built the guns for my Connie, I built a fake gunport so I could rig the guns off the ship. I'm now using it too build the rest of each gun,

I finished the carronade bases. Now I have to figure out how to mount the actual guns. Again the wood is so poor that several split while I was handling them. BTW I use masking tape doubled on itself sticky side up and down to hold all these small pieces to the work bench.

Next preparing all the yards. And first riging the spanker which am going to rig furled, in order to enable me to rig a big Burbon flag blowing slightly  in the ship

After all it was too high. As my good friend Mirabell61 advised me I moved the headsail lower and then I went on rigging the next one.

    My thanks to Nils.
