But there are not specified.... for example "red" what kind of red? AL in its webpage gives a table where the colors of Hermione are specified according to "Patone color model".It gives the numbers of that system which ofcourse do not correspond with any known model paints brand i.e. vallejo or revell or humbrol etc. Thats what am bothering you about. The question is how are we going to pick the right colors if there are no specification given in the kit. Hope am not driving you crazy with my persistance but I think is something we have to find out before buying the paints. All the best and thank you for your response. Chris

Thx Jud.... very helpfull. Am an engineer myself so I got it.... its the torsion force we want to stop...so the feet if are one sided have to be in the direction of the load. ie a yard needs the feet of the windlass towards the the mast which is infront of the windlass, towards the bow of the ship. That means in the row from bow backwards : bow-mast-windlas feet-windlass. If I am correct thank you very much.... Chris thx again

The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
