garyshipwright reacted to native one in La Mahonesa 1789 by native one - scale 1/48
I have been a member for years always viewing other members builds to get an idea how something was built or how it was made to help me on my own builds,I have been kicking around the idea of a doing a build log for some time now, but my last few ships were already done are not documented with pictures , so when I finally received the Mahonesa from Ancre I figured I would start a log for all to follow my progress.

garyshipwright got a reaction from jansmiss in HMS Montague 1779 by garyshipwright - 74-gun Alfred-class
Hi guy's. Here's a update on the build but this time it is more about her building board. I add a way of being able to tilt her from side to side which helps keep the back in tack and a lot easier getting to thing's. I worked on a couple of hanging knee's and being tilted made it a lot better. I can't take the Credit for it which goes to Alan/AON and the tech info on it. Hope you enjoy the pictures and any question will be more then happy to answer them

garyshipwright reacted to archjofo in La Créole 1827 by archjofo - Scale 1/48 - French corvette
@Gahm
@albert
Hello,
thank you for the nice compliments.
Of course I would also like to thank you all for the many LIKES.
Continuation: Cleats for the topgallant lifts and royal lifts
In the meantime, the cleats have been grooved for the central lashing and are ready to be tied down.
After temporarily securing the cleat to the topmast shroud, I begin the top and bottom tying. Then I rotate the cleat to its final position aft and complete the process with the center lashing.
The last picture shows the two cleats of the starboard side topmast shrouds of the foremast. This is where the lifts of the topgallant yard and royal yard will be attached later.
To be continued ...

garyshipwright reacted to mtbediz in HM Naval Cutter Alert by mtbediz - FINISHED - 1:36 Scale
I finished the first layer of planking on the port side and started the second layer. Since the original planking of the ship was clinker type, I started it from the keel upwards.
This is the first time I'm making a clinkered hull. In case I fail and get stuck, I decided to complete one side first so that I wouldn't have to deal with the other side in vain. Normally I do it on both sides.

I cut the stem and keel in accordance with the drawings in the Anatomy of the Ship Alert book and mounted them in place.

garyshipwright reacted to hdrinker in Pegasus by hdrinker - 1:48 - POF - Swan practicum
Forward cabins complete. Functioning door hinges about as small as possible but, as noted by others, still over scale.

Forward compartments in progress on the lower deck.

garyshipwright reacted to hdrinker in Pegasus by hdrinker - 1:48 - POF - Swan practicum
Starting the forward cabins. The lights shown here are truly a challenge. Just when I think I’ve got it all together, except for the last little piece, it all falls apart! But they’re better than the magazine light, so I guess I’m progressing.
