  1. I made the model carrier and I have started deck planking. I am using 1,5x6 mm of walnut strips on the deck. Because of long distance; I added extra plank supports between bulkheads 4-5, 5-6 and 6-7.
  2. Support for bowsprit (i dont know its name), dry fitting.
  3. I completed first layer of hull planking. I cut the bulkheads extentions and reinforced the bulwarks before inner plankings.
  4. Thank you so much for great videos. I have a question Chuck. How do you taper the planks? Do you sand or cut them? Thanks.
  5. Great work B.E. May i ask how you remove the pins after gule dries. Are you nailing half the nails or you have a special tool for it?
  6. Starboard side planking goes on. Last three planks to complete
  7. Thank you. I have learnt one more thing, i didn't know this. I am not sure if they are pure brass. I will never leave nails on my next builds anymore.
  8. I am making some accessories. (Rudder, windlass etc.) I will continue planking of lower part of the starboard side later.
  9. Port side hull plankig has been completed and I did a little sanding.
  10. False keel in place. Planking continues. One side is about to complete.
  11. No, I will not take out the nails. Normally lower hull of Pickle (below water line) is covered with copper but i am planning to cover with mahogany veneer. Upper hull will be painted. So, nails will not be visible.
  12. Planking of the port side in progress.
  13. Drop plank is necessary in this level.
  14. Thank you GL. It is lime tree.
  15. I have covered the bulwark extentions with mask tape because i don't want the strips to glue them. Extentions will be cut and removed afterwards.
  16. I started hull planking. I soak strips (2x6 mm lime), clamp in place, wait for them to dry and glue in place.
