    This house is finished.

Next, it will be the belfry/west door attached to a small house.
The tower of the belfry comes from an error in sending the kit: I received twice the cardboard base of the church bell tower...
I'm going to transform this base to create the open doors, insert a hoist, a sundial, eliminate the bell tower openings, put a roof, decrease the height a bit.
The little house will be glued directly to the tower to have a city block.

My understanding was they used them as high speed transports. they were faster than anything the germans had as transports and they were well familiar with their toughness/durability.... I imagine that it is possible that they used them as bombers, but I don't recall reading that...... KG 200 was their special projects squadron, stuff that they wished to keep secret....

hope you can get the job done.   something to try and make would be a brass 'comb'  it doesn't need to be very wide,  but the teeth will need to match the ribbing on the panel side.  that way after the putty is applied,  you can scrape off the excess without ruining the detail.

a second thought I have is using a thread pitch gauge...you can find them anywhere tools are sold..........already made with very little work

    Hi all,

Another good couple of hours,  I touched up the green then picked out  the Black fittings, then a few items in flat Alum,   then when dry  (with hairdryer)  I then ran a pencil to create some shading, next using white I I did some highlighting  then I dulled everything with some flat coat.

Next will be to build the seat.

    OC.

I have no idea if they are out of scale or not. But I do know what the 1/35th pilot harnesses look like on my Huey. They are small, so yours must be TINY. You did a fantastic job in my opinion, such as it is. My hat is off to you.

Also I have had excellent luck using Vallejo putty in much the same way:

I don't know about the Borg but now that you have let the cat out of the bag that you have a 1/48 C-130 in the stash you are obligated to get on it. That is unless you show us your entire stash. In which case we will pick your next build. WE are MUCH more powerful than the Borg.

Speaking as an old time RC builder, with a lot of glassed hulls under my belt, they all have to go through the Ugly Duckling stage before the swan emerges.  (Don't let too many people see that mask. They will accuse you of hording and not turning it over to the hospitals!)

Looking VERY nice. Truly a building that could last hundreds of years, as many of them have.

    I have a question though.
In US subs it was the practice to replace the used fuel space with sea water in order to maintain almost the same total displacement as the fuel was used up on patrol. Was  this also done in U-Boats? If so then there would probably be seawater on the bottom of the tank and fuel floating on it. I would think they would be different colors.

I was referring to Egilman's comment that he had a collection of 1/35 and 32 scale choppers in his collection/stash, but no Huey's or Kiowa's.

I am finding out that there is plenty of tiny stuff at 1/35th also. My pilots on my Huey have TONS of tiny stuff that has been a challenge for me to deal with!! Also mmany of my still to be built aftermarket stuff is looking pretty small and delicate as well.

If you are thinking of adding a 1/35th Huey to your collection I have an unopened Dragon kit that I bought when I thought I had wrecked my present build, I also have the old Revell 1/32 kit but I can't remember if it is still wrapped. But at this point I think I would recommend waiting for the release of the 1/35 Kitty Hawk kit. Not many details on it yet and of course it is already over due for release but if it is like their 1/48th scale Huey in detail and assembly method, it may be well worth the wait.

I have never seen post and beam construction with the fill area so much thicker than the beams. Interesting look.
