Hi Verne, just found your log and will be following your build. I recently finished this build myself, but most of the work was done prior to finding this forum. Looks great so far.

Hello Sjors, for me reading these passages helps our healing, Isaiah 53:4-5;, and Mathew 8:16.  I hope this helps you. Believe.  And also some pictures for you of Lake George, New York.  We are here today, and I thought you would like to see the boat we will go on tomorrow.....the Minnie Ha Ha, which is an American Indian phrase and name.  This lake has 1,000 islands and is beautiful, it is in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York.  Take care my friend, and get well.  We shall be praying for your quick recovery.  The last picture is for when you get well.....Ben & Jerry Ice Cream Banana Split with New York Super Chocolat Fudge, Butter Pecan and Strawberry Ice Cream, whipped cream and chocolat fudge.  I am sorry you cannot get this to enjoy in The Netherlands, but perhaps if you visit the US someday you can enjoy one of life's great perks.

Very nice details, the anchor rope looks really good.  Glad to see your progress, and I really like the finish on the deck.  Keep up the good work.

Hello my friend, I go away for a week or two and look what happens.....the whole place falls apart, everyone down. I hope no one ate any of the shipboard food hoping to get well. I am sad to hear you are sick, but happy to hear that you are getting better. I'll try to send you some pictures of New York to cheer you up. Get well....

Hi guys, I thought everyone would enjoy seeing this sign.  Says a lot of how people have always percieved sailors.  I remember in Norfolk back in the 60's there were signs in peoples yards saying "Sailors and Dogs Keep off the Grass".

Thanks Popeye, if I hadn't been advised to use it on my Model Expo Sopwith Camel, I wouldn't have known the green was good for metal and wood. I didn't want to use CA on the whole model, and the tube worked out well. The green worked very well and I have no complaints about it. It did a good job for me, and the copper is "stuck" well to the wood with no lift so far. I'm happy, and this was just a fluke that I tried it with the copper tape. Good stuff I guess.....

Well, tonight I am in Erie, Pennsylvania, and found out that the Niagra is ported here. I went down to tour and photograph her and found out she's not here. Will be back here in September 5th for a big Battle of Lake Erie circa 1812-13 show, unfortunately I won't be here then, I'll be in Augusta, Maine. I wanted to photograph her for you guys building the Niagra, but won't be able to. Sorry guys for all of us. This ship yard currently is on strike, with not enough hours to work on my Morgan.

Hi Augie, glad to see you got your case, and have ordered your Confederacy. The case looks nice, I'll be following this when I can. Currently in Indianapolis fixing to see an old Navy buddy that I haven't seen in about 15 years. Pictures to follow Sjors! Glad the hospital was brief or was that you 'in your briefs"?????? I forget, .....they don't even let you wear your tighty whities!

Ok guys, the trip has begun. I am now in Hot Springs, Ark., for a few days to see an old Navy buddy. Known each other since the 5th grade. Then on to Indianappolis to see another Navy buddy that I was on the JFK with and then to Maine and down to Boston to see the Constitution, south to Mystic, Connecticut to see the Morgan and eventually south to Florida. Back in Houston in Jan or Feb. I brought the Morgan with me, but might not be working on it much, so it might be awhile before you see some progress.

Hi Dave, here's a few pictures of the 24 pounder from Model Shipways.  It should give you a reference of scale.  It is 1:24 and if you need measurements let me know.  Hope this helps.

I wasn't going to work on it today, but couldn't stand it once again, so I installed the bowspirit,  planked and stained the anchor deck.  Then moved on and installed the windlass.  Much still to do on the windlace, but it is now on the ship.  Details to come as I progress.

OK, coppering is finished.  I got the starboard side done, then capped the keel, touched up some paint and here it is.   Major accomplishment and I like how it turned out.
