  2. i agree with all those that have written before me, what an exceptional model, congratulations
  3. i use these at work , theyre very thin but woven like carbon so they don't break very easily, they are quite expensive though, but outlast the thin separating disks by a lot Pacific™ Abrasives Aluminum Oxide Cutoff Discs | Stuller
  4. i like the look of the echo , i have seen this before but didn't realise it was a free plan, i think i might go with this one , thank you ,
  5. my first attempt at scratch building was a cross section of hms Blandford , it came out nice and i would like to try another one , my problem is finding suitable plans , where can i find plans for model ships and preferably cross sections?
  6. Mike Ellison reached out to me after my post above and made good on my purchase from the previous owners , not only that but i got an email telling me about my order and that it had been shipped , while i understand that the previous owner had some health issues the communication wasn't that great , the new owner is making a much better job of thing ,imho, and i look forward to more dealing in the future, i'm not criticizing the previous owner , everything i ordered i eventually got , and love every book i have , i am looking forward to many more books and an email to say theyre on their way ,thank you seawatch books
  7. i have bought a few books over the years and loved every one of them , good luck with the future endeavour and hope to see seawatch continue to prosper . i have oredered a couple of books that i am still waiting for , do i need to contact Mike Ellison or just let things take their natural course?

  9. hi robert , amazing work, can i ask ,what is the tool you are using to hold the thread while tying the knots?
  10. congratulations on the birth of your grandson , do you have to quarantine coming from malta?
  11. not sure really, if i don't sell it i will build it, i have already built a corel version but not doing the research , i didn't like the way it came out, this was a few years ago and after joining this forum i think i understand that research is just as important as the actual build . i know have several books on the Victory so feel that i am prepared for anything , i think i just thought that the caldercraft kit is recommended by almost everyone as the most accurate version of the ship today and i would like to build it just for that, but if its not to be , then its not to be , thank you for your encouragement , i still have to finish my endeavour and if its not sold by then , well i guess i will be building it...
  12. i want to build a victory , i bought this kit because i couldn't justify $1200 for the caldercraft one (still cant actually ) but looking through robert29's log and some others i think i will bite the bullet and try to save for that kit, i have taken the box lid off the kit to look at but thats it , its completely nib, i would like to sell it for $550 plus shipping , please let me know if you are interested via pm or if you need pictures , also which state you are in so that i can get an accurate cost for shipping thank you for looking Anthony
  13. i have been following this thread for a while now but feel compelled to congratulate you on the progress you have made and on the excellent craftmanship , ell done sir
  14. not sure if i've asked this before but is the proxxon mini mill any good for light duty work , or should i get a more expensive one , i plan to use it for scratch building
  15. i ordered 2 books on the 18 of november , when i called they said that they were returned to sender so they have sent them to me again , Cathy even gave me a tracking number , i have ordered several books from them now one came within a few days but all the others have taken a little bit of time , but they did get to me and in perfect condition, the books are worth the wait so be patient and you will be rewarded
  16. all great suggestions , i did look at the band saw tutorials when i got my band saw and i think i have it setup as best as i can , i haven't used it much so some practice pieces are a great idea , i've also contacted an orange orchard near me to see if they can spare any timber but haven't had a reply yet ,
