During the planking of the boat I have taken no pictures. (yesiknowbymyselfitspity)
The material has been lost in the editing room. (whobelives)
In the first photo you can see how the frames are bent into shape after cooking. For this, the strips can be pinned on the form block for the boat and after drying they stay in shape. They are then glued. The frames are divided into two. The floor timbers are prepared in situ. The preformed ribs could be fit without problems.
The installation of the floor boards, Wash-board, thwarts and Remmleisten I did ...... but unfortunately not photographed (yeahyeahallwaysthesamestory)
But now jahaa enough photos that goes well.
Install the knee to support the thwarts was a real hassle.
The Boat-rudder- blade, of course combed into two parts was a great experience again.
The tiller a little challenge.
The bracket for the mast looks quite good, is not it.
The Stern-sheets and the side covers were also in line.
In between sample seats for the crew ...... * lol *
Then remove the sloppiness and make new: Customize grating clean. Gunwale back down and re-done, because wrong, this time with oarlocks. Set the Thwartknee to the correct position.
The Thole-boards were a real challenge. Tiny, shaped in three directions, with stop bar!
Then the fitting and final assembly this time right Gunwale.
Now a few settings using "director's cut" of the repairs of fixtures. (Botch eliminate)
Again a few parts for the box of memories!
The flagpole:
The flagpole with 4 hex taper is made from the blank. Then from the 4 hex to 8 hex, and now in the lathe.
Looks good does not it?
Even turned the mast and mast trunks and leadership of the shell is finished, lacking only the turned wooden knob at the top.
TATAAAA there he is.
The rudder also still needs the finishing touches
And in the end the whole thing, the crown is placedCUUUUUUUUUUUUT
The Take
Dear Congregation, I hope that you have enjoyed the "film".
A continuation of the movie series is in progressSo long and have fun

The only means against was to shower shower and shower again.
Nevertheless, the skin on my hands and arms have smelled of old bones. It took weeks up to the smell disappearedHave Fun

Hello qwerty 2008,
over 25 years ago, when we had a club meeting, a man from Amarika came to visit us and had pictures of his work.
He built ships in wine balloons. I have never seen such works of art and do not forget how fascinated I was then.
I stood at the very beginning of my modeling career.
Now I can literally watch live at this Artwork created.
I do not let me miss this show
Hopefully you continue :) -
Thank you for the kind words. :D :D
Right now I'm going to make the launch of Caroline.
When it is done, there is again a part of the building report
have fun

Hello Gimo
Already finished?
I can not get enough of this wonderful work.
Simply amazing this representation :)
-
Just great. Wonderful work. I am impressed

Hello Michael.

Hello Garward
this is also a good possibility for caulking.Noted, however, the width of seams on ships between 1-2 cm are. Is rather usual 1 cm.
This means at a scale of 1:50, the seam is 0.2 mm wide.
In this manner the cover will get a perfect caulking.
I have used this method in 1985 for the first time for the Phantom, NY pilot schoner. This model was scratch built in 1:50 scaleThe Phantom is now currently at the German Technical Museum, Berlin
Here is a top view of the foredeck

Hi Greg,
you're always welcome.
This will be a long trip because "Wonderland" is in Hamburg and I live 800 km away from Hamburg in Augsburg/Bavaria.

The armament of Royal Caroline
The armament consisted of various guns.
4 Pdr. Cannons on gun carriages, four per side, plus 4 x ½ Pdr. Swivel guns on the aft deck and on the Mast tops ¼ Pdr. Swivels
On the plan of Bellabarba are also 2 x ½ Pdr Swivels on the foredeck to see.
But the arrangement of these guns can not be true!
The guns are mounted too low (knee high), and the swivel guns can not be fixed there, since a proper attachment of the column is not visible.
Judging from the drawing, the servants are running the rotary launchers are mounted, merely placed on the deck, and that goes against all the rules of shipbuilding.
Servants are always min. performed two floors and bolted to the bar below or attached.
You have to just let me think what forces caused by fire the cannon.
After the first shot the swivel gun would be along with the shooter and servant across the side of the ship to find if not downright overboard.
And then there is the height of the swivel gun to consider;
In the position as shown, the shooter would sit on the deck!
All in all, the author is obviously a major mistake happened.
In the picture of Cleeverly none of it is visible.
The author will forgive me the criticism, but in such a project as the Caroline, I would avoid technical errors.
Also on the original plan of NMM is nothing to see like the plan from Bellabarba.
Conclusion: I have not mounted on the back deck, the swivel guns.
But now I reached an important message!!
Our special agent "P" 08/15-006 (with license to fly),
