It seems they are not friends of the model building
-
I want to believe.
My admiralty already turns up his nose when I cook the bone glue -
Robert I just found your log. I find it fascinating. One of the members of my club built a bone model of the Friesland and your log brought back memories. You are doing a great job in a very difficult material. The main broblem he had was bending it for the planking. How did you bend your planks?
David B
Hi David,
the thicker planks (from 1.5 mm upwards) were sawn into shape.
Thin planks - were cooked - 2 to 4 hours and hot glued with bone glue
BtW can i please see some pics from the model of the Friesland.

As a small interlude to the tiny eyebolts, hooks, blocks, etc. something right once again great. Exept for men hands.

The channels serve the shrouds of the side walls away from the shipside.
They are made allmost from 2 pieces. The woods are lengthwise lasching with each other
Then left and right curved out the board.
The holes for the backstays iron sawing out before assembling the two pieces and also set the holes for the eyeboltsbring together
The holes for chains made with tablesaw

I think so too. But what reason there may be the rope to lead such art.
Or is it just plain wrong -
Hello community,
the breeching rope in the drawing, it is imao guided very strange.
As it can be seen in the drawing, the rope is kinked during recoil and hence destroyed.
Is that right, or am I somehow blinkered
Source: "The Naval Cutter Alert" 1777 by Peter Goodwin 1991The topic has been discussed in a German forum.
Unfortunately, no clear result.
Now, the suggestion was made to ask this question in the MSW with the hope, here to learn more. -
