what does the gross motor modeler if he wants to produce parts that are so small that it can no longer hold it in your fingers ?
1 He curses : * ohnowhatthef............ *
2 It clamps the part in the vise .......... a 10th of a second later .............. crunching ..............* ohnowhatthef........*
3 He holds the part convulsively with the tweezers ............. 2 10ths of seconds later ............ pling ............ *sowhatthehel....*
4 He reads this report carefully .................................
For my mini-blocks at the Royal Yacht Caroline , I needed a device to the tiny blocks 2 x 3 x 1,78 mm (with wheels ! ) To process .
The existing watchmaker Hand vices was too rough .......
Take two strips pear wood 7.5 x 4 x 100 mm connect with screws
At the ends of each milling a notch , filing, carving . The notch is adapted to clamp the workpiece , not crushed.
Well , the workpiece can be processed (without crunching or pling )
And here is the result. A block 1.7 x 2 x 3 mm with washer
Hand vices To prepare the Special I (incl. Search the screws, etc. ) used about 10 minutes -
I am in awe of your craft. It's a whole other art to building in plastic or wood. Kudos on your work. I have a question about the ringbolts. You seem to have the bolt and eye attached. Without some David Copperfield trickery, how do you get the ring onto the bolt? Is it carved there or do you have to somehow close the eye of the bolt onto the ring after they are connected? I don't see any joint lines in the rings......
Hello Sailor,
please look here:http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/1749-hmy-royal-caroline-1749-by-tarjack-made-from-bone-m-1-50/page-8
On this Page i show how i connected ring and eyebolt
So that the adhesion point can not be seen, I turn the part down.
no trick, no Copperfield, just a rotation
Have fun

The cannon rigging part one
The Breech
The breeching tackle serves to prevent the gun after firing, to fly through over the deck. ( Secular terms )
Scientists would / express something else incomprehensible : mass times the muzzle velocity , including the air temperature and humidity = measured at the shoe size of the gunner .......... etc. etc. results in ::: A breeching takle is required !
The breeching tackle by the guns of the Royal Caroline was probably spliced behind the breech around the trowel .
To install this required a device :
A bracket in the final length of the breeching takle and the cannon was to build.
Simultaneously, a device for positioning of the gun was used .
The gun barrel is inserted into the bore of the holder ; Breeching rope to the standoffs attached and the splice been marked on the dew.
The splice is a rope / thread in the strength of strands (3 or more strands laid together forming a rope)
The splice is then threaded into a needle and pricked with the needle through the rope placed around the trowel and out on the other side through the cable .
On the way back you wrap the splice depending on the length of 3 - 4 times to the existing Part. At the end back through the rope out it goes back in the same way ( wrapped ) .
Thereby the end is not too thick, splice the stand again to the left or right through the dew, leave a small piece and cut .
Now there is a fixed eye spliced to the existing breechrope .
In this way, all eyes and cringels (on sail) can be made. This not only looks good, it is by working technically still correct !
Now the work is still dressed and ready is the breechrope on the trowel
The next step is to attach the eyebolt on breechrope .
Therefor the gun is fixed to the mounting board and fastened to the retaining ring bolt in the assembly position .
So it looks when the ring bolt is fastened . The glue ( white glue ) is wrapped with serving .
On the ship the ring bolts will installed for the guntackle and tackle .
The second part - guntackle and takle fastening follow soon .
Until then, good luck with your projects- Elmer Cornish, ronkh, Dubz and 15 others

Hello Anja, hello all
dear friends of ossified construction.
In the last few weeks, I have created the equipment used for carriages .... feel in 1000 eyebolt, ring bolts, hooks and blocks. In the next few days .... weeks, I'll show the mounting of the guns on the ship.
Until then, I ask you all for a little patience- harvey1847 and mtaylor

Hello people,
and once again a story of small things with great effect.
The eye and ring bolts on the gun carriages have brought me to the brink of power capacity.
But now it's done. The fasteners on the gun carriages are ready, now only missing the trunnion straps and rigging
But see for yourselfThe eyebolts

The Ringbolts

Thank you all,
@clipper
the surfaces do not need special protection.
By the hardness of the material it is not possible to protect. -
The carriages
The guns of the Caroline where same as on the Bounty ex. Bethia.
This has reinforced my decision at the gun carriages to not change anything and they are placed on the ship.
But now I get a folder from the decryption department placed on the table. Many thanks to the team, keep it up, you do excellent work.
On the cover "Top Secret, only for official use"
After evaluating the documents and photos, with super secret camera photographed
May I present to you, worth audience, more secret weapons production practices of smithy of his Majesty of England.
The carriages are in the style of Engl. Cannon built.
The sides of the carriage consist of two parts, which are bolted together.
In the lower part are the cutouts for the axles, at the top are the cutouts for the trunnion. The axis sections of the lower bars are sawn on the circular saw
The semicircle is pre-cut to the circular saw and then filed
The upper parts are adapted and shaped
Now for the axles and wheels
All parts of the carriages without wheels and axles
The carriages are being built together
Ready gun carriages with guns
The next report on the arming of Caroline is in work and follows soonHave Fun

Hi all,
thank you for the kind words.
@michiel
The bones are to formed very well on the lathe .
Most of the details are worked out with a file.
The polished impression is made by files.
If the workpiece on the lathe rotates, is polished by gently press down a very fine file to the piece . -
I have good news: Agent P is back
and he has brought incredible top-secret material from the armory of his Majesty of England.
The Guns of Caroline are not cast as profane ...... no no ................ from bones these guns are made.
Rotated on a special lathe (Unimat "SL"), but see for yourself:The raw material is thoroughly selected
The various production steps
The trunnion holes are fixed for drill in a prism
Looks good
And here is the hero of the act .... Agent "P" 08/15 - 006 (with the license to fly)
Our department of decryption works at full speed,
to decrypt the rest of the top secret material.
Once the material is present, the rest of the report will followingHave fun

Thank you druxey, I know.
What I meant to say was that I want to attach the posts as well as in the drawing
-
Dear community,
the attachment of the swivel guns has left me no rest so I have with help of my mentor Peter in the AOTS book, "The 20-gun ship BLANDFORD" a drawing found on page 89 of the correct attachment of the swivel guns post.
Thus also the irritation to the original plans were eliminated.
The servants shall be as shown on the drawings attached outboard.
And exactly like this I will attach the swivel guns on the Caroline! -

All hands on deck.............................he i said aaaalllllll haaaaands
After I make the many hooks, eyes and blocks (for the guns) have already spots before the eyes, was a small relaxation törn due for the eyes
Therefore, I once make another figure from the bulwark ornament.
The images come in the series of steps.
After the figure was transferred to paper and glued to the bone support, it was sawn on the contours.
And now have fun with the pictures:
