Sweet little stove Nils. If you don't wish to go to the trouble of making the distillation pipe, you could just insert the connecter, a short length of brass tube inserted on top of the stove towards the edge centrally between the boiler lids.

 Thank you so much B.E.

for your Kind Response and that wonderful link to Dafi`s lovely log of the Victory concerning anchor cables, that is more than I had ever expected...., and also for your sentenses olut ouf Bruian Lavery`s literature.
All very inspiring, and I find a very nice Detail (anchor cable rigging) on a 18th century model

 Nigel,

yes, there are 6 of them included in the etch set.

Have now completed the two bulkheads and the intermediate wall in lengthwise direction (with door) between those bulkheads.
Also some extra belaying Points and the oil-lamp lights and door hinges.
Wish there were more hight in These Areas, but then I would have to Change the Amati plan completely.
It was quite a fiddeling work to get those bulkheads in place, the larger one had to be separated in two parts, and then mounted in place, due to the trapez-like shape.

I would reccomend that These bulkheads are planked equiped with all necessary Fitting out and mounted in place before the hull is planked, it would be much easier.

 Nils

also two outer clamps port and starboard to the twin double door bulkhead

the intermediate space between the bulkheads

 great cabin Forward bulkhead

the upper Portion of the first bulkhead Need to trimmed off Flush when glue is dry

Fitting out of the aft two bulkheads, that will allow a later look into through the half cut away poopdeck from above

the first mast channel Support brackets are still missing

here the doors for the gundeck aft bulkhead, and the great cabin bulkhead. Because I started the starboard bulwark inner planking in oak, here again oak is used

double doors to the great cabin. The doorpanels are of ply Color framed with Mahagoni

rear side view. Here I`ll leave the Mahagoni Framework for the double doors away, and the brass knobs are only handles

this bulkhead with the two double doors is the aft end of the gun deck, here in raw process...

 Thanks Crackers,

again I learn something new,..... I saw that funny looking horizontal turret on stove Pictures before, and not knowing what it was for, I did`nt do it, guess they did`nt have cans of cooled Coke for the Crew on board, and the rum would`nt last for ever.

In this case there would Need to be another collector-barrel for condensated water at best near the stove..

Mirabell61 reacted to rafine in Frigate Essex by Rafine - FINISHED - Model Shipways - Kitbashed Mirabell61 reacted to rafine in Frigate Essex by Rafine - FINISHED - Model Shipways - Kitbashed
Thanks Terry. I'm afraid that the only thing I could teach is to grow older, have more time for modeling and substitute more patience and perseverance for diminishing physical capabilities.

Sam, it's good to hear from you. It's been a while and I was getting a little concerned about you.

I've now made and installed the chain pumps, their aft cranks and crank supports and the pump dales. The pumps were made using the kit laser cut pieces as forms for boxwood planking. The cranks are blackened brass wire and are simplified due to their small size. The forward cranks and supports will be added as I move forward on the gun deck. I am in the process of making the remaining quarterdeck framing and the main jeer bitts.

Earlier than my steering wheel endeavor I had fabricated the cat heads and installed the chainplates. All of the deck furniture remains only temporarily placed for context.

Funny thing about the deadeyes - they don't want to stand upright, as in the photos. They lay over, free on their pivot pins...

And last, but not least, thank you to all those who've 'liked' my updates!

 Cheers,

 Hallo Nils

 Great improvement of that stern!

That stove is coming along nicely. You have a talent to make the essence of things visible with simple means. Your stove started the same way as my own clumsy attempt. Then you add just a few things – a band with rivets here, a few lids there – and suddenly your stove looks real. Great!

 Cheers
 Peter
