Thank you Martin, Mike, and Bob, and for the 'likes'
For the Risers I have used the kit provided Limewood, basically because it is to be painted and will take the bends fairly easily to follow the sheer of the boat.
I had retained the bulkhead stiffening strips from earlier in the build and as these follow the sheer line, I pressed them into further service as a template for the Risers.
9567
Not too difficult to achieve the sheer curve using wet and heat, but there is a downward turn around the first two frames at the bow which is a little trickier to achieve.
According to the plan the top of the Risers are 8.5mm below the frame tops. I used a marked stick to check the levels as I fitted the risers.
9571
With one side fitted the second side was glued so far along the hull and temporary thwarts put into place so the level could be checked before the glue was completely set, so adjustment could be made if necessary, fortunately it wasn't.
Before painting I coated the Risers with sanding sealer to give a smoother surface and reduce the inevitable fuzziness of the Limewood.
9611
The frames below the Risers I varnished to take off the whiteness of the Limewood.
The small fore deck is also being fashioned, 8mm Boxwood strip is used for this.
9610
9606
I am thinking at present that I will leave the Foredeck and Thwarts in the natural Boxwood finish.

Here he came up with supports for the ship. It will be cast from brass and fixed with 8 mm bolts.

Congrats for finishing this really beautyful model. I looks a little bit like a model that was build 100 years ago. That is what I think makes the model really special

Project completed !
The 26 month duration journey has come to an end, and I would like to thank my international fellow builder freinds for following this build, for their suggestions and helpful comments along the way.
All the appreciative and kind compliments have given me very much drive to get the project complete, in a way that I am myself satisfied with the result.
I´ll choose a representive bunch of pics for exponating into my gallery in a couple of days.
Here come the final photos of the ship as built and in a large set of four lots, and without comments as all pics are self explaining.....
I made a few more detail shots for all those that like details. The only thing missing are the rudder blades and the tillers for the the open lifeboats (paint was`nt dry yet), but I`ll get them on before the KWdG goes into her glass case

Igor,
thank you very much for your words,.....
I am momentarily doing the last little bits in fitting out...
now the benches on the upper decks are on and also the radio aerial wires (antenna). The three story staples of collapsible boats have received securing holding down chains, and I`ve started to fit rope coils to the davit fall belaying cleats...
Will still have to do all the flags and some rigging (pulleys, blocks and hooks ) to the cargo load beams and to the winches...., but now its all not long any more
Nils
this pic was taken with a flash, that really shows up the dust again settled on the detail surfaces
aditional benches for passengers enjoying the sun and the salty sea air
Acc. to my information the KWdG was the first German civil oceanliner to be equipped with sea surface radio (operated by Marconi operators)
chains lashing down the boat staples....
the antenna wires lead down to the radiostation booth (oerated by Marconi officers)

I started some tasks for sailing equipment.
Let's begin with the mast, wedged in the keelson and embedded in a half-rounded niche of a seat. Here, of course, it's just positioned. Then we have the boom that will house the jib.

Here, instead, the antenna for the triangular sail. This boat features two types of triangular sail, one high and one lower. Because of the height of the display case, I chose the sailing with the lowest antenna. It was a tough choice but I think it's necessary.

And now let's come to the showcase basement of our model. Although the support provided with the kit is nice and original, I had in mind a kind of presentation like the image 08 20160924_110111.jpg, in my opinion very realistic. Then the base of the case is ready to contain this kind of bed made of stones/sand.
With this in mind, I asked my daughter, Silvia, who went on holiday to Elba Island to "steal" (I remember that it is not allowed by law) sand and gravel from a couple of Elba beaches . . Now the stolen material has to come in my hands.
For now I release some images of the showcase base . .
