hi all
the saga of the hinges continues
the first attempt with copper was not entirely successful so decided to switch back to brass.
the hinges are nearly done ...just a load of 0.5 mm holes to drill....a lot of cleaning up and then to blacken
photos enclosed as per usual

Thanks for your comments, I am preparing the double rising coasts and I place them in a provisional way to adapt and divert them to the openings of the gunner, it will be a very long and difficult job, we hope for a good result. A greeting

yamsterman reacted to DORIS in HMS ROYAL KATHERINE 1664 by Doris - 1/55 - CARD
Dear friends,
thank you all very much for your kind words and comments I am pleased and appreciated your support a lot.
Hello Greg,
the right remark. Of course I am going to add two doors on that bulkhead at marked places:
Yes, I would like to build a larger French ship probably from 17th century as my future project.Their decoration and design are beautiful so this is a great challenge for me. I admire your current project Le Soleil Royal, it is a superb inspiration and pleasure to watch.
Well I am not sure with several things that I apply on the model, but suppose the entry ports could be on both sides of this ship. On Vale´s painting you can see the entry port on the starboard, so it is also O.K. on my model. On museum models of similar English ships from that period I can see the entry ports usually only on the port side ( therefore I also made it there on my RK) , but it is often missing on the starboard.
And here on this model of the warship 90-94 guns from 1670 you can see entry ports on both sides so I believe it is also right on my model:

Kind regards,
Doris

Thanks for your comments. Part of the interior of the ship can be seen, since I will leave the cargo hatches open and the door of the cabin half-open. In addition, one of the reasons why I build part of the interior carpentry is to give the hull greater rigidity. In the system that I use, the most delicate moment is just when the false bulkheads are pulled, since the hull only has 0.6 mm walls in its raw state, that is, before sanding.
