Is the painting merely an 'artist's impression', or is it based on some historic source?

If it's 'six of one and half a dozen of the other', my personal preference would be for the 'stepped' look.

Delightful detail, Pat.  It's good to see that you're using stud link chain for the anchor cables.

Jim Lad got a reaction from DaveRow in Sirius Model at the Powerhouse Museum
As the Sirius is now available in kit form and is being built (or planned) by some of our members, I thought these photos may be of interest.

The Ingleton model of the Sirius is in storage at the Powerhouse Museum's storage faciliy at Castle Hill (Sydney).  I was able to visit the storage area this morning and take a few photos.  Some of the photos aren't great as the light was pretty poor and no flash was permitted, but I thought they may be helpful for anyone building or researching the Sirius.

First, some photos of the hull and deck.

Another reason for plenty of Carley floats, Dan - how many of those soldiers couldn't swim?

Very nice progress, Keith.  It looks like the rubbing strip isn't a rubbing strip but just some fancy decoration.

Jim Lad got a reaction from archjofo in Meteor 1851 by Jim Lad - Scale 1:96 - Immigrant Ship
I've been a bit slack with updates, I'm afraid, but there's a little more progress to show.  'Meteor' is now sporting a keelson and a pair of stringers on each side of the hull.  These will all now have to be dowelled and properly cleaned up as they will be visible on the completed model if I go ahead with my current plan to only partially plank the hull.

Once that's done I can think about completing the stern framing and giving the outside of the hull some final fairing up before I start to think about planking.
