I have discovered that all of the attachments, including the tilting table, eventually are indispensable.
I have also shown a few photos of a sliding crosscut table I built, with a sliding stop for repetitive cutting to length (always put a spacer between the sliding stop and the workpiece that you remove right before the cut, to avoid binding the saw). I use this constantly.

Neill, I agree with Erik and Rusty. The extended rip fence, zero clearance inserts and the .040 slitting blade, are the items I use the most. I made my own miter extension out of a piece of hard wood so, yes, definitely the miter extension. Been thinking about the the micro stop and some additional blades down the road, but I'll order those when the time comes.

42Rocker, another piece of sage advice. I prefer both feet on the ground any way. Why step out of a perfectly good airplane.

Christian, Ron, Rocker and Grant. Thank you all for looking in on my build and your kind words. The idea for the extended keel to screw it down to the build board came from another member here on the forum prior to the "Great Crash". I just borrowed it.

Very nice build board. Looks like it's very accurate which is so importand when squaring frames. Thanks for posting your pictures.

I started the TRITON cross section build as a first step toward scratch building. Or as they call it here the "Dark Side". The plans are very easy to follow, crisp and clean. It has been a pretty steep learning curve for me. Going from having most of the parts laser cut to having to cut and shape each piece myself. Had some set backs but for the most part, progress has been in the forward direction. I have postd a few pics with descriptions to cover my progress to date.

Thanks for the book report, Mark. This book is on my 'need to read' list. Hi, my name is Bob and I'm a book-aholic.

Augie, what can I say. Your Syren is awsome. I need to get back to my build. I've neglected her for too long now. I know the site admins won't agree with this comment because of all the headaches, but this fresh start is great. Clean slate for everyone. We can all help make MSW better than ever.
