    Good morning all,

Hello Joe, Thanks for looking in.

Some more pictures related to the construction of the main rangefinder/radar station.

    Here goes,

A side elevation of the station.

The main components of the radar stabilizer system.

    The radar stabilizer under assembly.

The radar stabilizer placed adjacent to a 5 Euro cent coin for comparison of size.

A close up shot, showing the stabilizer and the earthing system in place.

The housing with the swing arms - these arms were driven by electric motors, and used to turn the armoured shutters of the lens housings.

A view of the other side, including the ;locking bolt on the swing arms.

The arms and the linkages are now in place.

The moment of truth - the radars in place.

    A side view.

The stabilizer and the earthing device for the FuMO 27 radar.

A close up view of the arm housing displaying the details involved.

A close up view, showing the pneumatic piston on the stabilizer.

The rear side of the range finder housing, showing the lift up cowlings.

A main shot of the assembly.

Shall be posting more pictures tomorrow.

That does it!  Andy's thread has been over run by crustaceans!  Mark is going to fire warning shots at us all for 'frivilous posts'.  Popeye - the blue ones are pretty rare so go lite with those

I don't want to interfere in this discussion but you are right Andy.  I think that's because everybody has to re-post his/her build, and now you can easier follow a build from start.
We all had to start all over again.  That creates a bond.
And even If I talk to much I think it is an expression of my feelings that I'm happy to see all those builders (old friends and new) back on track.
We live in different parts of the world, but together we make it a small world.
Thank you guys and gals for the fun, the serious talks and all the help during my build(s) .

Glad you've got her all up to date Popeye.  I know we've been down this deadeye road already.  Model Expo does have the 3.5 mm in stock in walnut as of today.

I am just catching up with your build log. Excellent job on the standing rigging!! I can't even imaging how that must feel . . . I am still struggling with chapter 9 (I believe)

I don't disagree. Seemed like yesterday, in particular, was a bit of a free-for-all. And it was fun. Since the crash the fellowship of the "surviving" members is stronger... And I think everyone is trying to reinforce that.

The standing rigging has been completed !!!!     :)

In spite of a few ham-handed mishaps (see 'where the he_ _ did the Martingale go'),  I think it went well.  She is really taking on some character.  For the very first time, she looks better in person than i the photos.  But with Sjors looking on, ya gotta have pics.  Let me know what you think as I take a break for a day or two to shovel out from the in-process blizzard:

I am happy with the bowsprit as, just a few days ago, it looked like an explosion in a rubber band factory.  I need to complement designer Chuck Passaro (again) for not only the intricacy of the layout but also for taking the time to explain everything so clearly in his Practicum.  THANKS CHUCK!

    And here's my favorite shot

OK, it's time to do some 'yardwork' and get the spars and yards together.  I'm thinking I will leave them in a natural finish but not decided yet.  After adding the dimensions of length and height into the ship, I look forward to now providing width

Finally, thanks to everyone here on MSW for providing advice, encouragement and positive thoughts (you too, Sjors).

    Thank-you everyone for stopping by!

Augie: I am going for the gusto! A brave new name change and I'm using your idea. Hopefully you won't mind.

Frank: It will take perserverance for this build! Thank-you for the vote of confidence.

Sjors:  If I called you when I started the build I would wake you up!
I will make a long front row so you and Augie and Mark can all have a good seat! Pull up the popcorn maker and the hot dog stand...you will need lots of food because this build will probably take a long time.

Anja: I will save a seat in the front row with lots of popcorn!

    Daniel: Thanks for the links!

    Augie,
Your secret is safe with all 2,300 members.  No one will tell me. On the brightside, a month ago it would have been over 16,000.  Not sure some of them would have kept quiet.
