hi all!
here is my new ship build kit the royal caroline
i try with this kit to rebuild all that is not include in the kit like some sculptures and détail
i post some picture:

Further comment to Druxey's stairs observation and Ed's.
I was measuring the lenght of the rope which will be use to pull the anchor cable out of the water. On the 74 guns, this rope was passing above the stair and it was surely a potentially situation. On Le Fleuron that rope passes below the stair and has a lot of place.
Walking stair usually have constant height between each one. In this situation it is like a stair made in 2 parts, one first descent, one stair plate and one final descent; the same principle when a stair gets down turn and get down for the final steps.

Extraordinary work as always, Gaetan. Every aspect is beautifully executed. A further comment to Druxey's stairs observation: in my experience with French design, esthetique sometimes seems to outrank fonctionnel, but the results are often delightful Vive la France.

Hello,
thanks for the nice comments.
Another small detail has been made for the French corvette.
It is a roller on the Main deck .
This is fixed in front of the main mast on the open Main deck .
The making of this steering roller (height approx. 8 mm) was performed in three parts, which I turned on my little lathe. The roller was made of brass.
For what purpose this roller was used precisely, is what I can only guess.
Because it is in the context with the guide rollers (tourniquet), I see a connection there with the messenger.
I also hope on the expertise of one or the other on the forum that explain this more detailed

Other details which change on a French vessel:
The skittle at the level of the bow is rounded off and not in angle how English as well as hinge of rudder who are tilted and straight ahead!
Doors always open quoted bulwarks

the friend who build this kit have made a marvellous work,he rebuild everything he can to be hystorical and realistic!
nothing on this ship seem to be a kit.

Yes it is good it mark!
In fact he left the base of the kit "hachette" and as any kit it is stuffed with technical or historic érrors, as here the skittle in angle which should be rectified sculptures one made in box tree
