    Great Progress Nigel, keep going!

On my build I'am right now thinking of ripping off the beakhead planking and replace it trough a different sort of wood. I find the kit supplied basswood planks a bit too soft, no sharp edges.

Blowing the dust off the build log....
The deck subtructure has been constructed and glued to hull in their respective height, measured from the top of the hull according the dimensions taken from the plan.
Now that the deck cut-out defines the future access to the inner hull , I will start to determine the position of the built-in parts, drive and accessories.

The building cradle is finished, the stands were copied from the plan, cut and glued together with reinforment pieces to a wooden base plate.
The hull has been lightly sanded from the outside. Filling in dips was not necessary. some dimple even imitate damage to the hull which I will leave as it is, the ship is supposed to show a lot of wear and tear.
Next was to cut out and file the well deck wash ports on both sides.
The construction of the deck framing has been started as well, photos to follow...

Take a good look -- this is the last time you'll be able to clearly see all of the cockpit elements before everything gets closed up. Port side on the left, starboard on the right. The disparity in the number of controls on the two sides makes me wonder whether the Luftwaffe chose only right-handed pilots for fighter pilot duty. 🤔

    good evening everyone

it think i have now got the foremast backstays in, but now thinking i dont like the ratlines, they are the right scale i just dont think white and brass works for me, that will mean replacing the shrouds as well

why o why do i try to be different and half way through regret it

whilst i ponder that i am also replacing a line of fencing 8x6 foot panels the posts all failed in the Jan storm (100MPH winds)
with no contribution from the neighbour i am also preserving his side as well , the first panel has been reduced to move the post holes

And off we go again! I still have USS England on hold for the moment while I look into to getting some after-market parts, so for now I have decided to go with the hot hand and take on another airplane project. This time I will be tackling Halinski's Messerschmitt Bf-109E-4, a 2007 issue depicting the mount of Walter Oesau of JG 51 in 1940. I chose this kit for several reasons:
I feel like I need a contemporary for my recent Spitfire Mk Vb. The Emils had largely been replaced by the Bf-109F in Luftwaffe service by the time the Mk V came into service, but close enough. Believe it or not, I don't have a single Luftwaffe plane in my finished collection as of yet, nor even a Luftstreitskraefte mount. It shouldn't take too long to build. It's a Halinski -- 'nuff said. But it's also not hugely complex by Halinski standards. It's small, so unlike the Hellcat, it will fit on one of my shelves.
Okay, on to the kit! Halinski kit covers always feature artwork of the kit subject in action. Sometimes the subject is shown in an interesting flight attitude. This is one such kit.

The kit features Halinski's usual high-quality graphics, including realistic weathering.

An unusual feature of some Halinski kits is that some parts are printed on the inside back cover.

Plenty of CAD diagrams are included.

And to round things out, I have the laser-cut frames (two frets) and molded canopy (but not the resin wheels).

So, first thing to do will be to seal the parts sheets and rummage through my paints to see if I can find some edge colors, otherwise it'll be off to Hobby Lobby tomorrow. Look for first cuts soon!

Yes, the drive components arrived yesterday.
I will replace the kit supplied shaft with a maintenance-free, bearing-mounted shaft from Raboesch. The engine is an Aeronaut Navy 720, it should be strong enough to power the model.

Starting my build of the Boston Typhoon.
I'am not showing the kits content since it can be found in my review of the kit earlier here on MSW.

Here we go, the moulded Hull has just been arrived on the workshop table !

It has been washed with soap and rinsed with water to remove any residue may remaining from the moulding process.

I will start with the usual activities like building the cradle and sanding and filling some rough spots and dips on the outer hull, etc.
    More to come!
