  2. Hi Kevin

Your stern gallery sure looks nice and clean, a thing to be proud of thats for sure. I see that you have added the stern davits, are you going to hang a boat from them? It's nice to see that you have cut out your plop deck for the sky light that will put more light inside your stern gallery, I am thinking of doing the same if I ever get to that stage. Keep up the great work.

    Regards  Lawrence

Hi Lawrence, i will be hanging 3 boats off the stern - because i want to fully set every sail including stuns, on doing so - i think not a lot will be seen midships upper deck so i wanted and alternative position for them

the skylight cut is as per the plans in respect the cut-out was already there, but the after bulkhead is solid so prevents any other light getting in there

and thank you for the compliment

  4. hello yon - i had plans to put all the lower lids on in the shut position - but by the time the wales are placed on to follow the flow of the hull - i relaised just how much work the lids will incorporate - might just revise the position of these - lol - wait ans see

the wales raise the lids way passed the recess, to do this i might as well remove al gunport linings - or make thinner lids - the jury is out on this one

    all the best

  5. good morning everyone - thank-you for the comments,

Hi Kevin, this one is on my wish list. It's definitely big, how much approximately does it weigh. I'm guessing that with the display case that wall mounting on a shelf is a none starter. I really enjoy looking in on your build, nice work.

    Tony

heavy - i had arms like an orang-utan - after carrying her new in the box - ill find a weight for you soon - but she gets bigger every time i look at her

    Kevin,

We take time off from this hobby to do things important.  Remembrances are very important.  But now that you're back into the build... great balls of fire... looks fantastic.

lol - you don't know how close to the truth you are on the remembrances

i lost contact with my daughter 15 years ago when she was 13 years old through divorce, out of the blue she contacted me last weekend through facebook - been a real emotional week - been brilliant - sad and and all the other things in-between - lol - its like we have never been apart - as we learn about each other and - well its just good

  7. Good afternoon everyone

after doing some more work on the 1/4 galleries yesterday - i have turned my attention to the poop deck, after the flag lockers were put in i had very little space above them so i have built the stern up another 2mm to give a bit of space, The sky light is in process of having 50+ windows fitted as the top rail for the port side is waiting for the under side to dry, nice to get back into it

  8. a whole week has gone by - and i feel like i have been shot as the messenger - i was trying to reflect the point taken that the one off craftmanship item will become extinct faster - thats all - but it is always my quote that is being posted- oh well - that life, - and now i dont remember the original question

i dont see that this tech will help - how can it - someone makes a good original - someone copies it just by a 3d scan (oh such a lot of skill in that is'nt there) and sell the data to china to produce the mass market - only this will happen faster now - rant over
