Kevin got a reaction from PeterB010 in St Nectan by Kevin - FINISHED - Mountfleet Models - 1/32 - Steam Trawler - Completed June 2020
good evening everyone
from the previous photo's you can see a wedge under the mast , this was not required
this angle was to much so today i sorted it out, what happened was, i required a shim to fit the main mast, as per the instructions, and did the same for the foremast, not thinking that the deck was already providing the required angle, wedge removed, two part epoxy and pins made it more hard work than was needed, im happier now its now fixed back in place
another fix sorted

the top external panelling will be varnished at some time in the future, as i dont want it looking pristine
i would like to be able to remove the roof, any ideas anyone? or suggestions of how the inside of this unit can be seen

good evening everyone
i see the light at the end of the tunnel, its getting brighter, and no its not a train in the opposite direction
having spent ages messing around i decided to ensure the mast lights still worked, and they did, how ever, i am unsure of the lens colours to use, as i believe they were changeable, i have also get to sort out the night photos properly to show them off better
the ladder to the wale-back is now in place as are the braces to support the fwd gallows ,

no its not the correct rake, i have just been doen stairs and put it on the display shelf, and it is raked to far back, i thought it was about rightin comparison with photo and the after mast, which is about right, the angle i took is not correct, so tomorrow i will remove some of the chim and make it look better,
the rake to be set is not in the instructions
here is what it should be like NOT MY PHOTO

Good evening everyone
lots i dont understand about this build, there is so much more that could have been put down in the instructions, the forward gallows need to set so that the centre is above the middle of the rubbing bars, but they are not in the same position both sides so i have put them in place identical both sides, so yet another compromise, same goes for the position of the fish pond stations, they had to be re positioned tonight annoying as i had them all ready to be fitted
oh hum, other than that loving this build, tomorrow i want to sort the ladder to the wale deck and get the mast fitted
