Good evening everyone
so the first list of DIY must do's are out of the way, now I am allowed to play for a few days
The living room has been the last room to be done in our revamp of our home, but this had some paint, curtains and new wallpaper as well
from this, time to get rid of the purple
to this

Kevin got a reaction from clearway in Bluebell by Kevin - Revel - 1/72 - PLASTIC - Flower-class corvette with GLS upgrade - restarted Jan 2022
good evening everyone
spent this weekend on the funnel area, was meant to be a easy task, but it wasnt, took a lot longer than it needed to but at this time im happy with the results
i have decided on her final colours, they are colour coat enamels supplied by soverign Hobbies and will represent her 1945 image
the ladder, 3 piece PE set with a shaped ring
Ladder need to go forward at the base in line with the steam pipes
the new steam pipe does not look rifht, infact it looks like it being forced into position, i will have to sort that out during the week

good evening everyone
i moved from aft again to the bridge area, and progressed onto the the twin guns (20mm) i think,
one went together ok but the other one became a disaster, not helped by dropping it and not finding it because it caught in the dogs hair as later found in the garden
the platforms have to be adapted, to allow for the guard rails, the etch has a scribe line where it is to be cut if required ( as this gun was used in many builds) and it may not need to be adapted
then i cleaned the platforms with the etch cleaner, and for the first time i mixed a tiny amount of the etch primer let it sit for 3 hours and applied it, i impressed with the results, but also learnt not to put the etch cleaner in plastic yogurt pots

Good evening everyone from a very damp Somerset
take two on the life boats,
i wasnt happy with the grab ropes, so i redid them, where i had originally threaded the ropes through the hull i filled them with eyelets,
wasnt happy with this
i drilled out the holes to remove the black thread, which had been secured with C/A
used 1mm thread with a grime wash
MK1 and MK2
need to tone down the weathering a bit, or use a different wash, i am still playing around with the covers

Kevin reacted to John Ruy in America 1851 by John Ruy - FINISHED - BlueJacket Shipcrafters - 1/8“=1’ (1/96 scale)
Bluejacket does supply metal blocks that are very detailed. However, they are tiny.
Shrouds are completed and it’s on to the rest of the standing rigging. I will keep you all posted on my progress. I have two builds going, this one and the Charles W Morgan. So this one will get placed on the back burner until I need a change from working on the Morgan. Keeps me occupied these winter months. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for taking a look, tips and comments are welcome.

Kevin reacted to Luekutus in Calypso by Luekutus - Billing Boats
Minor Update: Planking is going slowly, thanks in part to my thrice underestimating the amount of planks I would need. I'm still enjoying this part even though it's getting a little trickier as the plank ends need to be trimmed to fit. I'm hoping that the eventual hull-painting will hide some of my novice-modeler planking sins…

The tabs tie the cover to the boat so are pulled down, the rope then passes under and back up the other side i was hoping to pass through the tabs rather than rings hanging from them, lol wip

I might try some wire twisted around a small drill bit, or not even try doing anything
