I like your ship.
What kind of stain do you use (water or oil)?
The lathe is a 6 in 1 or 8 in 1 for metal ? What is the quality of the wood you obtain? I use a plastic - metal union 6 in 1.
Wait to see more.
All the best, Cristi
Cristi,
I use beech tree, basswood, mahogany, ash
Somethimes i buy wood and sometimes i cut it by myself.
Now i have olive from my garden, probbably i will use it in some new project.
Tell me about your pastic lathe, do you happy with it,
In the first time i want to buy plastic than i decide for metal and diferency in price is good,
Maybe for this job plastic lathe is enough???

Hi
I just found your build log.
You are doing outstanding work
I really like what you did with the haul.
It looks to me, that you painted the haul then sanded. I am guessing that this brings out the grain in the wood.
Then you stained it with oil base stain.
I see you have a airbrush in one of your pics. What was in the airbrush???
IF I have missed something in your finishing the haul, please let me know.
I would very much like to try your method.
Thanks
Joe
Hi Joe,
You are right,
Painted then sanded the hul,
I got the grain in the wood, also fled some small holes in planking if exsist.
Painted again with airbrush (needle 0,8-1mm), i used airbrush also for small parts (needle 0,3mm)
I like this technique, i used it on WASA Corel.
