]The repairs are finished, some some tidying up to do.So its back to some buildig alast

The blok was done by drilling holes in some scrap, glueing pieces to the ends, painting it black, rigging the block, then glueing it to the underside of the deck

Nothing has been glued yet.The cannon is to give the angle of the ladders, the barrels to see if they need moveing

Hi

Thank you kindly for your remarks. The model is based on Chucks MSW MAYFLOWER.The barrels where rubbed down with wirewool

to take the shine off and to give them a key, painted matblack, let dry ,then scraped it off useing my nail its softer than a blade, then polished useing my finger andsome tinted wax.

[Just a few pics, and has anyone got an easy way of making kevels? AL has 2 bits off wood stuck at an

angle to a flat piece of wood.

Tony,

Congratulations on your Mayflower. It looks that you turned your Artesania Latina kit into a Mayflower II replica, similar to the Model Shipways kit.

That is exactly what I intend to do with the Constructo kit.

How would you compare the two kits (AL versus Constructo) ? See my review here: http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/2260-kit-review-mayflower-165-by-constructo/

Thanks

Yves

Hi Yves.

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. The problem with rigging is that it takes so long for so little,I have just started on the ratlines on the fore mast.

Regards the cannons, they came with kit and it seemed like a good idea at the time to add the bucket and the other bitsI having a day off tomorrow I am going down to see the MAY ROSE I watched them bringing her up on tv.

HAVEYOU STARTED YOURS YET.

All the best

Tony

hello Tony,I am enjoying your build of the Mayflower. The hull and decking have some nice detail. Also your barrels and buckets.the Artesania Latina kit has some nice features. The sails look realistic and will add a lot to your model. My Mayflower doesn`t come with sails. I wish you well and good fun Rick

Enjoy sharing with you Tony. It is early in my Mayflower build but I am considering a couple of things.Sails Is one and I am leaning towards adding sails.I think my daughter in law can sew them for me.I purchased  sail cloth from Age Of Sail. Also I am not sure yet the color scheme for the bulwarks.I know Mr Passaro built the Mayflower from the original William baker plans and the model and original plans  show the original colors as well. There are several other paint schemes that were used on the Mayflower 2  as well as other sources like the awesome model of the Mayflower at the Plimouth Museum which is totally different. Also the armament is an option? Check out (was the Mayflower a pre armada vessel) that I posted a short time ago.keep building ,Rick.

The wife reckons MSW has been a bad influence, with on the shelf and next build. In my heading I said this was my second build, the first was over 50 years ago.The MAYFLOWER was a present but I can now say on the shelf is my next build having  just bought the SANTA MARIA by AMATI.

Anyway some more pics off some string
