How can I do that? Is there any chemicals? I heard aceto and then saltwater will do. Somebody told me just paint after aceton with the vallejo act. iron paint

Yep, chemical blackening is the way to go (I use Birchwood Casey Blackener) - have a look at my build log (near the end) where I have done the rudder pendant chains just that way.

cheers

If at first you do not suceed, try, and then try again!

You first must remove any finish from the brass chain.  Solvents like acetone or acids might work.  Since I prefer to stay away from chemicals when possible, I flame brass on the stove before attempting to blacken it.  Just be careful not to melt it!

BANYAN is correct it is the only way to go.

But make sure you clean the brass first with diluted Hydrochlric acid then wash it off with clean water.

Hope this helps you.

There are some good suggestions on using Birchwood casey on this thread. I love the stuff :)
