This turned out to be a very rewarding little kit. Definitely made a few mistakes along the way, but it wasn’t bad for my first model build. The directions were pretty specific and told me exactly what I needed to know to complete it. I ended up breaking the mast when I raised it up because a string was wrapped around it and I didn’t catch it until it was too late.E29EA943-D013-4ED0-90B8-DDAC6FB9238D.jpeg.7dd83217ced39dcdfc52b457184c92cf.jpeg8AE0C186-CBE1-4471-B4DA-410B8110DC90.thumb.jpeg.c4814487eb6ff5bf0794abbc5aedab4a.jpeg5EC3214A-E9B9-45F4-BBD2-BFEA6A9C3702.thumb.jpeg.88798930fbb138f3452d1877cf297111.jpeg3F0B0B7B-3D21-4512-832A-BF3A774AF89F.thumb.jpeg.09e90dfdb62f34847a6e75b47222e07b.jpeg4E54A2F8-812A-413E-8B0E-469C49507FB3.thumb.jpeg.8e09c6410b33f2604736629ce505cce5.jpeg

Nice kit :). You could fix the mast fairly easily - I had the same problem with my Longboat in a Bottle (different reason) and managed a repair. Use a piece of wire with a "hook" bent into the end to pull back on the top of the mast, and a "push" stick to support the mast just below the break. It takes a bit of patience, but it IS possible :).

I actually attempted that and was able to fix it more so than it was, but it got to the point where I felt I was going to break it worse if it kept fussing with it so I superglued the break and sealed the bottle. It was my first build so I’m glad it didn’t turn out perfect. There are two “ship in a bottle” kits by this manufacturer, I’m planning on building this same one again and fixing the mistakes and building the second one at some point in the near future.

Even with the storm damage I still like it. It is an interesting kit and You did a nice job. To bad about the break. I would keep trying to fix it.
